Now with the $299 version you have to also have an external drive to hold your games because it only has 512GB and the expansion drives are too expensive. Better to come up with a cheaper non-gaming storage drive just to hold games to be transferred to the main drive than to charge that much for an expansion.

I'm expecting they can go f*** themselves if they think I'm paying that. It's not faster than my year plus old rockets and they cost less a year ago when PCIe 4.0 just dropped.

I have a 2TB hard drive I'm using for my X1 right now. I will keep all the stuff I rarely play there and everything else on the system hard drive. I will then just move stuff back and forth as I feel the need. No way I'm going for that expansion drive. A little moving around is better than spending $220.
I may do that as well. I pre-ordered the 1TB just in case...but damn that's a lot of money for storage. 1TB isn't going to hold all my games but it should hold whatever my rotation is. It doesn't take that long to move stuff around.
Yea you'd have to move them back and forth to play them. Current gen can be played off the normal external but not with the S | X series upgrades.
Yeah, no, it's priced fine for being something I'd never but at that price. If it's really that expensive to make, I'll do the external drive shuffle.
