Storage Expansion For Xbox Series X/S

The one that was linked to that is available now for 199.99 I bought two of last July for my Ryzen build at 199.99 each, so that drop is still slow. It's also faster by a fair bit than the SSD card seagate wants is to pay even more for
Simple plug and play though.
Even casuals will do this.
(If they can get past the price)

That's what I said, even if you were on Series S, Warzone isn't 400+ GB. To add on to that the Xbox Delivery Optimization is going to shrink the size of the game anyway.

And even then if it was........still not mandatory.

I love the idea of plug and play. At maybe 149 I'll be in. But I can't see paying more than I paid for the rockets last year for a drive that's about 25% slower.

Theoretically yes the rocket is faster but, since they have Xbox Velocity Architecture and Direct Storage and all of the associate optimizations, the slower drive will load games faster and at the end of the day that's all that matters. That is until PC games start adopting Direct Storage.

Mandatory if you want to play anything more than a big game and a smaller game. If not, you're looking at 30 minutes to play anther game while it transfers over.

So its not mandatory. Got it.

So only 1 person thinks this is a good price.

Maybe we should all crowd source a lottery ticket since we are all so poor.

It seems pricey to me but I've never had a SSD so I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. We should have enough storage to last a few months though unless you're planning on storing a lot of games soon after launch. Then I guess you're storage options are limited so pay up. Gaming isn't a cheap hobby.

Hot wheels don't count.

I'm not saying it's over priced or under priced. What I am saying is that, for me, it is more than I am willing to pay for 1TB of storage. It is a non-issue though for me. Right now my 2TB external is only a little over half way full. I am not going to fill this up for a bit and if I do, I will move stuff back and forth as needed. It won't take too long.

Keep most of you past gen stuff on you old hard drive and your XSX optimized stuff on you internal.
The number one game I play at the moment is Smite. Since you have to wait for everyone to load before a match starts, there is no point t in me putting that on my internal. It would do me no good as I still have to wait for everyone else to load and that includes Switch players. Most multiplayer games will be this way if they are cross gen.

Maybe by the time everything that is published is "next gen" and I start to see a need, the prices might have come down. But I guess we'll see.

You can get an SSD 1TB drive that isn't small for under $100 (granted not exactly the same tech as are in these next gen consoles). Small sized drives can go $150. The price on this is pretty high. We'll see how the speed difference is but based on a normal SSD over USB 3.0 it can't be over twice as good.

BTW, I want to create a homemade hot wheels city. A town, with handmade buildings, streets, etc. in my basement. I looked on Youtube to see if anyone else does this, but I must be the only one. I didn't see much on there at all :(

Xbox Wire: Will all Storage Expansion Cards come from Seagate or could we see them from other companies as well?

Jason Ronald:
Seagate, with a storied history as a critical innovator in the storage industry, was our first choice to collaborate with to provide expandable storage solutions for the Xbox Velocity Architecture. Xbox is continuing to invest in the Expandable Storage category on Xbox Series X|S with goal of offering choice for Xbox fans, including additional capacities and implementations in the future.

soooooo, I shoulda waited for the madcatz variant? :(
