Azure doesn't have GPUs in it so it can only help with CPU stuff

Is it that simple though. Usually CPU offsets certain tasks for the GPU to do. If you can offset those tasks to the cloud then it should free up more GPU resources. I know you are most likely talking more about pure raw GPU power, but at the very least it can potentially help to maximize the GPU to its fullest. Something that perhaps the other company can not do ?

Yeah that's true, but to the level that he's talking about (being on par with high end GPUs) servers would need to have GPU racks on them.(they can easily add those though)

They can have it where lets say Cloud does 90% of all the calculations and still not look as good as high end PC. I'm not sure exactly how much calculations work is required to make the game run, but DX12 seems to be making PCs more like consoles of fully utilising CPUs and increasing GPU efficiency drastically.

Really stupid idea.

Different engine, no dynamic weather, no drivatars. A "unique experience", so why do they have the same name?

I wonder how many people will see footage of FH2 on XB1 and then complain that their 360 version falls short.
Well to be fair they did say that the cloud is Exclusive to Xbox One and to have those driveatars and dynamic weather they need cloud. I know TF does use cloud on x360, but that's probably an exception due to dev not willing to do two versions or not able to.

Just as PCs have tessellation for a while and consoles have not due to power differences, well same thing with last gen and current.

Spinter Cell did the same thing too.

It will be interesting to see how all this cloud stuff progresses through this generation. It really is an interesting thing and a new thing as far as mass market gaming goes.

PC will be better than consoles everytime for the simple fact.. you can play every game at 60fps, the biggest differential for games imo as a new Pc gamer. it is just so good

really spoiled 30fps for me, trying the Thief demo on X1 it felt like i was lagging

No, some few % of pc's are fast, globaly most pc's are 4+ years old and very slow. My pc are 7 years old and believe my it's very slow.

The new consoles are incredibly fast compared to most pc's in people's homes. A great part of those pc's still use win XP btw.

i dont get your points tbh.. its like saying X1 and PS4 isnt powerful cause people still have PS2s and PS3s etc lol

I was just poiting out Dibils statement:

No it's not, all X1 have the same specs, and all the ps4 have the same specs.
Believe me, not all pc's got the latest super fast hardware. There's still loads of old pc's - incl. mine, with a slow single core cpu. And it works like a charm. but only for very old games ;) :)

Like dark souls for PC?

This was shown during Microsoft's E3 press conference, but our stream was a bit low res at that time. I hope so much that this is also Xbox One footage, cause if that's the case, i have zero reason to complain when it comes to graphics.

Man...if you compare how realistic the faces and expressions are compared to The Witcher 2, huge difference. And boy do i love the gore during the combat.

Been playing Perfect Dark on XBLA. This has to be the most frustrating FPS ever made. I exaggerate, but levels can be so confusing that I'm constantly stuck wondering where to go next. It's even worse to shoot a random computer only to realize it was part of an objective and I'm forced to start over.

That's because it came from a time where there wasn't a lot of hand holding in fps campaigns when it came to where to go. Even i got caught out there while playing expecting a way point to pop up when i got lost, lol. Had to get used to that kind of thing again.

It's interesting how when it was first announced people complained about it being a "cross gen" game that won't take advantage of the XB1 since it's coming to the 360. Weird to have a complaint about it not being cross gen.

I'm not complaining that it's downgraded, just that it's stupid to still call it Forza Horizon 2 if there's apparently going to be such a big difference between the 2 versions.

I assumed it would be lower res and lacking dynamic weather, not as big a difference as they're making it out to be.

Have we heard "photorealistic" before? They are claiming it from ID@xbox game

http://news.xbox.com/2014/06/games-get-even-idxbox

From the moment we first loaded up “Get Even,” we were blown away. Developer Farm 51 has promised next-gen graphics, and they’re certainly delivering an incredible, photorealistic game that blurs the line between CG rendering and live action. Not content to simply make a gorgeous game, Farm 51 is using its talent to develop this mysterious first-person shooter into something that is about so much more than... well, shooting (but it’s got a ton of that, too).

According to “Get Even’s” lead designer Kamil Bilczyński, players have to ask themselves, “What is real?” A large part of “Get Even” revolves around a murder investigation that has you reliving memories, altering them, and getting clues that eventually help you solve the game’s many mysteries.
In our recent demo session, we found a room of corpses, deceased gunmen strewn about after a firefight, and an unrecognizable body.
This is where “Get Even” gets weird (and cool).
By jumping back in time via a subject’s memory, we were able to relive the firefight, moving through it while the scene played out in slow-motion – until we could get to our target and snap a photo of the victim before he was shot. Bilczyński teased the potential to relieve the memory again and again, making incremental progress until maybe – just maybe – we could actually save the victim.
Another thing that makes “Get Even” so interesting is that its multiplayer mode ties into the bigger picture. Two campaigns tell the same story from both sides of the battle; enemies that you encounter during your progression through one story might be actual players working through theother story. Make no mistake: This is an intense, unforgiving game in all of the best ways.
“Get Even” is just one of the amazing games coming from ID@Xbox. It doesn’t come out until 2015, but believe us when we say that it will be worth the wait.

Trailer in case that you missed it.

We'll see. I saw this a few months ago. I'm dubious because any movement in that vid is video. Everything else is a static mesh from 3d scanning. I also saw some actual in - game screenshots, and it didn't look all that special. Most what's shown here is almost raw scan data that they are flying through.

I don't know how they can keep the look and have dynamic light/ intereactions. Those "textures" are so real because they were taken in the scanning process. That's not due to some awesome lighting engine.

It will be interesting to see how it ends up.

Anybody planning to pick up Sniper Elite 3 ?

Sniper Elite 3 for Xbox One Has a 10GB Mandatory Day-One Patch for Retail Version.

The retail version of next week's shooter Sniper Elite III will require a 10GB day-one patch on Xbox One, developer Rebellion has revealed. This update makes various improvements to the FPS, and also brings the entire game's install size down to 19GB from 21GB, the studio told Eurogamer in a new interview.

The central purpose of the Sniper Elite III day-one update, however, is to "sync data between the game's retail discs and the Xbox Live digital download edition."

"In the several weeks between sending the code off to manufacture and release, rather than sit around or take a break, we've continued to work on the game, making improvements and optimizations," the developer said.

Rebellion says it has also started work on multiplayer DLC for Sniper Elite III, and explained that a "small part" of the game's 10GB day-one patch is needed to introduce a compatibility pack. "This is standard for any game that adds DLC--it's just to make sure everyone can have the same multiplayer experience whether they own DLC or not," Rebellion said.

A 10GB day-one patch is one of the biggest we've ever seen for a console game. For gamers wanting to jump right into the action on release day, this news is probably somewhat of a bummer, especially if your Internet connection isn't the greatest. Rebellion acknowledged this, and thanked fans for their patience.

"While we understand gamers will be frustrated at the wait, the good news is that the update will actually reduce the size of the game's total install footprint on their hard drive, and reduce the size of future patches significantly," the studio said.

"It's part of this ongoing optimization process that's enabled Sniper Elite III to perform well at a native 1080p on both Xbox One and PS4," Rebellion added. "We appreciate everyone's patience and we firmly believe Sniper Elite 3 will be worth the wait!"

The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions of Sniper Elite III will also have day-one updates, but they will be "much smaller," Rebellion said.

The 10GB day-one patch is required only for the first-run retail copies of Sniper Elite III. The update is not required for the digital version of the game, nor will it be for the next wave of physical discs that come to market. Sniper Elite III launches July 1 in North America.

That is just crazy. That is half the game needing to be downloaded. Kind of defeats the point of people buying disc based versions in today's world.

Zombie Drive Ultimate Edition ($14.99) is out now for the Xbox One.

This is the trailer for the HD version of the game. I could not find a trailer for the ultimate edition. I had to do a bing search to find it on the marketplace.

Yeah almost seems as if they did Megatextures or something. Though it's a good thing that it's for disc based version only as digital will come with it already

Hey so I have a general question, is there an easy way to find all the ID games? Or are they making it where we just have to browse every game and hope when we run across them we recognize them?

I guess the only way you are going to know if it is self published or not, is if the publisher and developer are listed as the same thing. It would be nice if the made it easier to find them all in one place.
