AC Unity info summary

  • Been in development since 2010. After Brotherhood a team broke off and started on Unity.
  • Skill leveling is in, and you can choose to drop points in stealth, combat, or navigation. You could potentially make a tank who is awesome at fighting, or a better stealth player.
  • You can now customize your legs, boots, forearms, chest, hood, and mask. And the armor/clothing has attributes like a hood that makes you blend faster in crowds and a belt that allows you to hold more items.
  • Co-op missions can be done solo as well and have multiple difficulties. You can also explore the whole world in co-op
  • They realized that with the multiplayer in the last games they were essentially making two separate games, and they didn't want to do that. They noted that people buy the game for the campaign and the added-on multiplayer wasn't the same experience, so they went back to the drawing board to get co-op in.
  • They are using a similar technique as Watch Dogs for co-op, in your game you are always Arno, and everyone else looks like other brotherhood members, but in their game they are Arno and you look like a brotherhood member (like how you are always Aiden in Watch Dogs).
  • NO MORE AUTO-FAIL MISSIONS! The missions now adapt to what happens when you play and don't follow any script. There will be changes and consequences for how you handle missions, but no longer will you get desynchronized for being spotted.
  • You use the new rapid descend ability from buildings by hitting RT + B. Haystacks still exist, but they found you don't use them near as often now.
  • The interiors really open up the game. You can run into a building to hide from guards, but there may be guards inside too. You can also use interiors for assassinations, hiding in windows, etc.
  • You really notice the new 1:1 scale for buildings, and the amount of buildings on the streets seems higher than any of the other games.
  • Stealth mode softens your footsteps, but you still move rapidly. Great for sneaking up on guards.
  • New cover system makes hiding easier and you can now peek.
  • Guards no longer automatically know where you are at all times once alerted, they will now search your last known location which makes it easier to get away and even flank them.
  • Combat is now harder. You may be able to beat 2-3 guys but 5 is too many. You have to pay attention to what weapons enemies have now. "For the first time, we have boss fights that are about parrying at the right time, making sure you dodge, and not spamming the attack button."
  • The NPC groups now react to each other. Thugs may attack you on sight, but guards/police won't unless provoked. Police may go after thugs, which means you can lure thugs to police and watch the police go after them.
  • They are starting a "new cycle" with the present day stuff. "You are the protagonist ultimately." You will understand in the first 20 minutes of the game where they are going with it. It's "cool" and "very, very surprising."
  • There can be up to 30,000 people in a crowd.

That all sounds fantastic! Hype Meter on FULL!

Not for me. I remember what they said about Watch Dogs and boy did it disappoint me immensely. These guys love to overpromise and sadly...underdeliver.

Yeah I don't trust ubisoft anymore, they haven't made a single GREAT game since Chaos Theory. Several of their games have been good, but mostly average or below average.

They are masters at demos that get us excited and great art direction, but the game ends up falling short everytime.

Far Cry 3 was awesome.
Assassins creed 2 and 4 were pretty good
Rayman Legends is pretty fun

I enjoyed RB6 V1 and V2 (though not as much as originals), GRAW 1 and GRAW 2 (though not as much as the originals), as well as Splinter Cell Conviction and Splinter Cell Blacklist.

That is in addition to the ones you mentioned.

Yeah Far Cry 3 was, but it got super boring on the second island for me, I had to push myself through it.

I went into Far Cry 3 thinking i'd hate it and come out with it very much taking 2nd place to The Orange Box as most impressive game on the 360....FPS wise! I am looking forward to Far Cry 4 and as much as I hated all the Ass Creed to date this new one sounds good!

I was similar. I went in to far cry 3 expecting the mediocrity of the previous 2 games, and came away pleasantly surprised and huge fan.

well, they hit it out the park wth the last AC and also Watchdogs. so i have high hopes for this ONE.

Notice how he said Azure wont boost resolutions but it can boost graphics? Just that statement alone should say a lot. Just sayin...

I've always said res isn't graphics, I don't ever remember buying any console in the previous generations and wondering if games could run at a certain resolution. I do always remember thinking about a jump in graphics though. I must be a bit simple.

Not at all its perfectly realistic to expect a jump in graphics. Essentially the dev is saying priority over pixels! I like that...

I tweeted Phil Spencer commending, and thanking him for bringing EA Access to the X1. He actually took the time to respond. What a guy. I know he's probably pretty busy getting ready for Gamescon.

You know what he gets props for with this. He took the praise away from himself/MS and gave it to EA. It is was EA pushing it, but we realized its worth.

When things seem too good to be true, they usually are. If that;s not the case...DAI is looking THIS amazing on Xbox One and is also 60fps.

The filename is DAI_GPS1_combat_AUS_XBOX_ONE.mp4

Could of course be PC version with Xbox One controller, but why call it Xbox One? Anyway, look here:

Oh and you see the Xbox One logo at the end, so it's basically a commercial for Xbox One. Bit s***ty if they'd use PC footage in that. Ah well, we will find out in November.

Where is Gears of War? I feel the need to chainsaw someone. I know MSFT recently secured the IP but damn I'm starving for info on the next entry. They better include Horde Mode and expand on what was done already.

Dev on gaf saying he's developing a game using azure compute, says developing off line/online version big difference visually.
If you focus on it you can boost the graphical look by a mile. :)

He also mentions paying for Azure once your game is released

During developement, yes. I do not work for Microsoft, so I do not know if they are doing it on a case-by-case sceneraio or whatever, As soon as you begin to earn money with your game and you still want to use Azure, obviously you need to pay for the service. I think that's just fair. The prices are well balanced. The best thing about Azure is scalability and power. And especially in gaming this is what you need.

I can not comment on our game just yet, I am sorry guys! 2015.

Which contradicts @Flynn telling us it was entirely free...

http://www.winbeta.org/news/rumor-mill-rockstars-gtav-xbox-one-and-pc-arrive-november-14th

Rockstar Games announced earlier this year that the open-world crime saga Grand Theft Auto V (GTAV) would arrive later this year on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The game is currently only available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Online retail giant Amazon has accidentally listed the release date for GTAV for Xbox One and PC, revealing that the game will be available on November 14th in Germany. Amazon.de quickly removed any mention of the release date as soon as the accident was discovered. Danish retailer Coolshop also outed this release date, before quickly removing it.

Rockstar has yet to confirm anything beyond "arriving this fall" so we are labeling this as a hot rumor at this time. Perhaps we might hear a bit more about GTAV's release during Gamescom, which takes place next week.

Porting this to high end consoles, Rockstar says that the new platforms will “take full advantage” of the more powerful hardware. Furthermore, all your old characters and game progress that you made in Grand Theft Auto Online on the PS3 or Xbox 360 will be pushed over to the next-gen equivalents. Grand Theft Auto V broke six world records last year, including become the fastest entertainment property to generate $1 billion revenue.

Xbox One @PullMyFingerXBO

Project Cars will be 1080p on Xbox One another game added to the ever growing "Parity" list.

9:53 PM - 9 Aug 2014
For maximum damage, we need to see an AAA title @ 1080p 60FPS on X1 and 900p @ 60FPS on the 4. I'd love to see this just once, just for all the meltdowns. Gaf and VaLL would implode on themselves and CNN, NBC, FOX NEWS would have to cover the story, it would be so epic!

Sounds like a late 2015 release at the earliest judging from lack of info.
