PS5 Pro:
- Single mode, no Quality/Performance choice
- Seems to be using PSSR which 'unfortunately does not work well'
- Pulsing, strobing artifact effects seen. PSSR does not seem to work well with Lumen RT
- Resolution is typically a bit above 1080p, looks closed to PS5 Quality in stills some areas also show settings similar to PS5's Performance mode
- DF thinks using single mode is fine but devs should make sure the enhancements work properly
- Frame rate is locked to 60 with similar base PS5 traversal stutters in town areas

Silent Hill f is a great looking game, but solid performance is achieved at a high cost in terms of dynamic resolution ranges on consoles.

"Earlier today, ElAnalistaDeBits shared an analysis of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro versions of the game, highlighting how achieving stable performance came at a high cost in terms of resolution on both systems. On base PlayStation 5, performance mode runs at an internal resolution range between 720p and 360p, sending us right back to the PlayStation 3 era. On PlayStation 5 Pro, on the other hand, performance mode runs at 720p, which is still very low considering the system's power. PSSR implementation on PS5 Pro also leaves much to be desired, featuring visible noise in shadows and ambient occlusion, like in Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater."
 
Watching walkthroughs on YouTube I think this game is going to be an easy skip for me at launch. That’s good news because I’ve been buying ever game under the sun lately haha

Chalk -1 for Elanaldebista guy again . I still remember the guy used open source frame rates analysis tool that gave wrong numbers for oblivion remastered a few years ago.

My wife just mentioned she wants to see a playthrough of this game. So we will probably pick it up at the next big sale. Maybe Black Friday.

 
I'm contemplating trading in expedition 33 and shadows for this but I haven't beaten both yet. Will this be a bad decision in hindsight 😅

I'd complete the first 2 if you really plan to do it. Only you know for sure. If you don't think you'll beat yourself up later, then go for it. Maybe, in time, those 2 titles will be much more cheaper and you can pick them up again and complete.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking because I already have had tens of hours on both games and if I wanted to beat them later, I can re buy at a discounted price.

Also because GameStop currently has a 70% extra trade in credit for both which would mean I can get silent hill f for almost free. It would be the wife and I's Halloween game 🎃

Saw you playing it when I got off lol. I got about 2 hours in so far I'm giving it a 4/5. It's a little slow paced in beginning but I have read it picks up quickly.

I will say there has been one part so far I haven't been a fan of. Based on story trophies it's after the second trophy and before the third...

The scarecrow puzzle was annoying. If the game didn't have weapon degradation it would have been fine. So I just save scammed trying to find the correct one.

Omg YES. I was playing and my wife was watching and we both couldn't really figure it out lol.

apparently it's supposed to be the one scarecrow that looks the most different than the rest but it was still tough.
