Skyrim

My momma has probably close to 1000 hours on the game. (Seriously) I bought her a Series S last month and loaded up some mods on it to change how it looked quite a bit, plus she's happy with the massively decreased loading times and the increased framerate compared to the PS4. I've tinkered around with it on the X a little bit. I can't play it ever again after all these years. What was amazing 11 years ago is far too clunky for me now to tolerate for any amount of time.

I think the gameplay holds up well enough.

Using magics and bows still work for me, but using swords and similar things is just too clumsy feeling after all these years. I wish they'd remake this game from the ground up. Maybe it's being planned for the 2031 Super Skyrim 20th Anniversary Turbo Deluxe Ultra Upgrade Edition.

Is the PS+ version the Special Edition or Anniversary edition? What's the difference between the two?

Idk...

The Anniversary Edition has more weapons, armors, some new storylines and areas. There's new houses and stuff you can get.

Special Edition was a last gen remastered release that contained the main game and all official DLC. The Anniversary Edition came out at the same time as the present gen patch / upgrade, in addition to the main game and all official DLC, it also contains numerous popular Creation Club DLC additions (quests, houses, armors, weapons, enemies, mounts, gear, loot, spells, survival mode, farming, fishing, etc., etc.). Anniversary Edition is the one to go for, tons of quality additional content. If you have special edition, upgrading to Anniversary is pretty cheap and definitely worth it.

It’s actually on sale on MS store and on the Nintendo store right now.

EDIT: It was on sale on Switch, still on sale for $10 on XB.

Your mentioning Skyrim made me fire the game up again and play for a couple hours on my present character. In regards to being able to make a number of different kinds of builds, Skyrim is still pretty incredible.

What’s wild is a decade+ later this game still holds up, makes you wonder what Starfield is going to be.

Upgraded us to the Anniversary Editions on XB and Switch. Man this does add a lot of s*** to the game. I’m about 15 hours in now still focusing on the mainly on the main quest.

I did a number of Anniversary Edition quests for gear the last few days. I got a great set of unique armor in the "Civil War Champions" dlc from the Anniversary Edition, finding a bunch of unique new gear in "Saints and Seducers" as well. Pretty cool.

Anniversary content wise, I highly suggest getting the Tundra Homestead house outside of Whiterun (cool house to store things in a central area of the map, and also doing the farming quest early on. You can make thousands of pieces of gold per day without having to do anything other than fast travel there to collect it once you get you farm completely setup and running. Grab a backpack that suits your character's playstyle as well, helps add a decent amount of additional carry space in addition to some nice stats while equiped.
