SnowRunner

Dono if it’s coming out to other systems, lazy I am atm...looks fun tho

*cough* Videodrome

Had my fill of that.

My last up north job was moving trailers in northern Wisconsin with a yard truck. It was one of these and after blizzards we put tire chains on it.

Anyone playing this on Gamepass (or elsewhere)? It's a pretty big step up from Mudrunner, which I also enjoyed. Much better graphics and performance. A very nice relaxing game for anyone who likes offroading.
I have played a little bit.

s*** is hard lol.

Console gamers don't like sims.......they are not popular......

Sadly, the older I get, the more I enjoy slower paced "relaxing" games like this. I also used to do a lot of offroading with friends, this and Mudrunner come the closest to that feeling for me than any other game I've played. Slow moving, need to pay attention to where your tires are, using winches when necessary, etc. Definitely not for everyone, but I enjoy it.

This game already looks pretty nice on the XSX, but I sure would love it if they gave us a next gen upgrade (Mudrunner got a X1X upgrade at one point).

I enjoyed a bit of Mudrunner, but got a bit frustrated by how quickly the ground would turn to mush. How much improvement on is there on the ground deformation. I love the amount of simulated materials in the game.

Ironically the first area is "snow-free", I only ventured to Alaska for a minute and left when I realized I'd probably need a better vehicle with snow tires. The first area is pretty similar to Mudrunner in terrain, but a bit easier to be able to see the differences of mud vs. wet dirt vs. dry dirt. I still have crappy vehicles, so it's hard for me to weigh in too much on the ground and handling, as my crappy vehicles can get stuck just trying to go up a hill on dry dirt or rocky terrain.

It seems pretty diverse so far though, I imagine the snowier areas are going to present a number of other challenges with snow and ice.

"Next gen" patch coming at the end of May. Hopefully it's still on GamePass when the patch releases.

To anyone who needs it…

Check out SnowRunner on Xbox Game Pass!

Finally had a moment to download the "next gen" patch and check it out. I haven't played in several months, but the visual upgrades seem pretty noticeable. Quite a bit more detail, fewer jaggies, and additional graphical effects. The wide outdoor environments look quite a bit more appealing now.

Uses FidelityFX too. Might be the first game to use it.

I don't know, they keep making them for the console. There has to be some kind of return on investment for all these sim games to keep getting released.
Have to remember that we never really had them before. They are kind of a nee genre for console. A growing genre

I should have used the sarcasm font.
