and that led me to thinking how incredible this game would look on next gen systems. Which of course led me to thinking of other OG Xbox classics that could use a revisit.

My top 5 that could use a revisit, in no particular order :)
Otogi / Otogi 2
Phantum Dust
MechAssault
Psychonauts
Darkwatch

honorable mention. couldnt resist
Star Wars Republic Commando

I was looking through some of the games I have for the original xbox the other day. Still lots of stuff I haven't beaten or even touched yet with some being very desirable replays. A good chunk of them can be played on the 360, but I own quite a few unplayable xbox games unless I get the original xbox from my cousins house. I might buy it off of him one of these days when I get a bigger space. One I would like to play again is Call of Cthulu. I got stuck on the game once because I couldn't figure out what to do or where to go. Last I remember, I killed two guys and was supposed to be looking for something a house, but it just wasn't there. I'm also thinking about playing Morrowind again since I have the GotY edition.

There's a complete list of playable xbox games on the 360 for anyone interested or maybe wanting to buy some old xbox games. I might do a little digging. Always wanted to try out the Ty games last gen, but never got around to them and those are like $5 a pop. Who knows, maybe I'll go on a spree. The Evil Dead games, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Blinx the Sweepers and good chunk of games with sequels that are BC.

forgot about that list, thanks for the link.

Good place to find games at respectable prices.

If you dont have component cables recommend picking up a set as they are cheap worth while investment. Wireless controllers are few and far between while being ungodly expensive :( I have a few Logitech wireless controllers and they work pretty good but expect to pay a premium price on ebay.

Cool beans, the original Xbox is like $70 I think on there. Nice to have another site to compare prices with Gamestop and Amazon. Noticed that they had the GOTY edition of Morrowind for $30 and I got it at a old blockbuster used for $10. I win that deal! :)

It's also good to know that if I feel like selling my Morrowin, I can sell it for nice price if I find a buyer.

Sweet site. Decided to look in the rare and collectibles and found this gem:

Anyone got a G to spare?

Oh wow, is that a homebrew? I'm pretty sure that Nintendo would never allow a game like that on their system. Who knows though, right?

lol, no idea, unless Nintendo was different back then.

Can honestly say never heard of that one lol. nintendo would never allow that .....today or then.

Most valued Xbox game I have is Fatal Frame but bought it new for 45.00 at EB Games along time ago in a galaxy far,far away.

Otogi is fantastic. I love the whole style of the game. It has such a strange and eerie atmosphere/vibe about it, and the action is fun and unique. I have both 1 & 2 for my o.g. Xbox. As for games that could use a revisit, my top choices would be Otogi, Prince of Persia, Jade Empire, Psychonauts, Chronicles of Riddick, Beyond Good & Evil, and Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

That's another one I always wanted to play. Luckily though, I have a few cool horror games in original xbox collection. Call of Cthulu, both Suffering's, and Cold Fear come to mind, but I think Onimusha and House of the Dead 3 technically fall under that umbrella. I tell you though, you guys want a good gaming fright for Halloween, Call of Cthulu is a great choice. Among the scariest games you can play on a xbox platform.

The first time I played Jade Empire was on the 360, great game and it's a shame I was so late to the party. Very fun and unique.

Chronicles of Riddick, .

Riddick was remade on the 360. If you don't know that, then hopefully this was a pleasant surprise. Looks great really, sorta held back by the physics of an older engine but it's still a great game.

It was packaged with the sequel, which (as the critics said) was less than great, but still not bad. I like it, first half better than the second when it comes to the sequel.

this is all unless you mean revisit as in to simply replay it..

addendum: We need another (or a remade) republic commando.

Great list - very much in line with what I would consider worthwhile :)

Otogi was such a stylish game - thought about that while playing Metal Gear Rising that shares some elements. Next gen successor? Please yes!

Plus: I'm still waiting for a Psychonauts-successor

Was it an actual sequel? I thought it was purely a remake of Butcher's Bay?

Oh yeah, whole new game. Assault on Dark Athena.

simple comparison of what the remake accomplished, if interested. (I don't wanna spoil any of the new stuff)

hoping this is all still relevant. I kinda wanna go play that now.

Originally I simply bought the game to hold me over until the release of Ninja Gaiden, but Otogi was a terrific game and I'm ashamed to say that I was never able to complete it. I got to the "dark world" and found the difficulty too overwhelming to continue. Since then I have fully completed such infuriatingly difficult games as "Ninja Gaiden", "Breakdown" and "Dark Souls." If that means my gaming skills have grown stronger with time, then perhaps I should give Otogi another go.

OTOGI was great and #2 was tough as %$#& I couldn't finish it.

Well aware mate, I own it :) I'd still really like to see a new entry in the franchise. Dark Athena felt more like a DLC expansion than a true sequel. It was pretty short, and it didn't actually improve upon Butcher Bay in any substantial way (BB was still way better overall). Plus, it's been 4 years now since it came out. Don't get me wrong, I still very much appreciated the opportunity to play that extra content, but I can't help feeling like I'd love another entirely new, full-length, epic visit to that universe. Prince of Persia had games on the 360 too, but I'd still like a revisit to that franchise as well since it's so awesome (last one was 3 years ago).

yeah that game is hot, I really liked Otogi's graphics too. I'm currently playing Conker live and reloaded & Panzer Dragoon Orta.

You beat Breakdown ? That is hardcore LOL.

Never beat Otogi 2. think Sega decided to just beat players down, steal their GF and kick their dog when they made it :smash:. Brutal just brutal lol

Gonna give CALL OF CTHULHU a try. Never heard of it really before but spent a little time watching, reading reviews and it looks very fun. Thanks sharkboy1200

Conker,Blinx, games that still looks fantastic and tons of fun :bang: What happen to 3d platformers ? maybe they just got played out.

Call of Cthulhu is a cool game. I certainly liked the creepy H.P. Lovecraft horror elements. The gameplay itself left much to be desired though. It can feel a bit awkward and unpolished at times. I wouldn't put it in my top 25, but it'd probably at least make the top 50. It's a pretty interesting experience either way, I wouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a try, but I can't recommend it super highly. Just depends on how strict your tastes are I guess (I can be pretty strict). I've owned it a couple times now and always seem to decide that it's not worth keeping, but I am glad I played it, at least. Some of the concepts/narrative elements/oddities you see and come across are really compelling.

Prop to the OP for reminding me of Darkwatch. I enjoyed it far more than Halo 2. Darkwatch was my shooter. I really liked the potential for the IP to grow and envelop more mediums. Sadly, we never heard from that universe again.

Otogi, Chromehounds, Phantom Dust, Gun Valkyrie, Enclave . . . I loved these games, and I would lose my s*** if From Software brought Chromehounds back.

It was definitely the most difficult game completion I ever had. So many parts of this game just put you in impossible situations. The completely invisible ninjas were the most unfair enemy in gaming since "The Mayor" in "Dead to Rights."

However, the game did have some extremely rewarding moments that made the whole thing worthwhile. The game probably would have enjoyed much more popularity had it been made a little easier.
Enclave was awesome. I completed both the Xbox and PC versions. I only did the Light Campaign on the PC though, and still need to go back for the Dark Campaign.

I think Enclave would have enjoyed better reviews if the Dark Campaign was the main game... it was a much more enjoyable and breathtaking experience, and was only an "extra" in the Xbox version.

Just replayed Orta last week in anticipation of Crimson Dragon. Can only hope it lives up to the previous Dragoon games.
hopefully it does. It's looking good though and for 20 bucks as a digital download I can easily get it.

CoC is solid stuff. You won't be disappointed. As for 3D platformers, my guess is that they're too expensive to make and really only get made under umbrella of movie/tv type games. If any of us want serious 3D platformers, it'll have to be through Nintendo I think. Although, I am glad we got a resurgence of 2D platformers. They were a missing genre for the original xbox.

Ootogi 1 and 2 are the sole reason I still have my og xbox still hooked up. Such a shame we never got a patch to play it on the 360 or a HD arcade release. I always thought that eventually it would find its way onto the service along with a HD Mechassault and Crimson Skies.

Is it possible to reply to multiple post's ?

I remember Gun Valkyrie being listed for the Dreamcast and how excited i got seeing the first pictures. Once the DC was dead and seeing what Sega was bringing to the Xbox there was no question what game system would be my next lol.

I know the Xbox got stereo typed for being the Halo or Burnout machine but it offered so much more, sadly most of these games sold poorly or just never received the hype they deserved.
