Digital copy: 29
Retail copy: 39

Getting this on PS4 of course DAY ONE. I woud want the retail copy if it comes with something nice. Kiefer Sutherland is doing better job with voice-over so far IMHO. Listen from 8.93, just awesome.

So it's $29 for a downloaded copy? That's a nice deal.

Might just wait to see if they have a super version with Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain.

People understand that this isn't really MGS 5 right? Well it is, but isn't. Kojima said MGS 5 would take too long to make, so he wanted to release something in the mean time to give people a taste of it. This will act as the prologue to MGS 5 and I expect it to be on the short side given the price and the fact the main game of MGS 5 is a long ways off still. I certainly can't wait for this though as I love the mgs series and 4 was so good and satisfying to play. I loved all the cutscenes in 4. :)

However, having said that I guess I can wait for this since I don't have a next gen system yet and don't plan to have one by march, lol. There are some games who are system sellers for me and I'm waiting for. They are, ff 15, mgs 5, halo 5 and uncharted 4. I can wait to get a next gen system until one of these releases.

It's not a "full" game, thats why I'm not super jazzed for it. Kojima said to think of it as more of a prologue/tutorial for "The Phantom Pain". I'll probably wait til around whenever TPP is about to be released to give this a run thru tbh.

$40 bucks is s***. It's taking advantage of idiots like me that will buy it because we're impatient fools.

Ah, I did not understand that. I couldn't understand why it was going for $30. I thought it was a full-blown Metal Gear Solid game. It makes sense now.

It doesn't matter how much Metal Gear Solid 5 is. $40 would be a steal. I just want to play that game. It's one of my favorite franchises of all time.

Same with me. I absolutely love mgs and its lore. I liked 4 a lot because it was amazing to play, had awesome cutscenes and I thought tied up all the big questions about the patriots, the loose ends, etc nicely.

So is this kind of like a $40 demo then? Either way, I'm passing. Most likely not getting MGS5 either when it launches.

My teacher must have taught me the wrong thing. He told me 'V' means 5.

Edit: Sorry Teacher, I was wrong about you. I checked the link, & it is indeed a prequel. Damn misleading if you ask me. Unsuspected people will buy it thinking its is MGS5, ot get a shock when the boot up the game.

I do not see myself buying this.

Yeah it does seem very misleading. Purposely?

I think so. Otherwise, they would have put something like prequel/prologue to MGS5 or something.

But if they do, sales will likely to be affected. But misleading/inflated claims, or withholding information, are sadly a part of this industry. Why not when you can get away with it.

GT5 is a prime example. No details, screenshot/videos of the 'standard' cars, until the game release. Inflated claim of 1000 cars (many are clones).

I didn't follow all the MGS stuff, so when I saw the game is not $60 like most games, I thought something was fishy. I didn't know until right now checking Amazon it's a like a "Episode 1" kind of game.

I wonder if Phantom Pain will be cheap as well, so the game totals $80 ($40 + $40), or if Phantom will be standard price so these two are combined for $100 ($40 + $60).

From Amazon....

World-renowned Kojima Productions showcases the latest masterpiece in the Metal Gear Solid franchise with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (on sale Spring 2014) is the first segment of the 'Metal Gear Solid V Experience' and prologue to the larger second segment, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launching thereafter. MGSV: GZ gives core fans the opportunity to get a taste of the world-class production's unparalleled visual presentation and gameplay before the release of the main game.

MGS 1 on PS1 is still somehow my favorite and MGS3: snake eater in close second, i am a big fan of the story but was quite dissapointed in the MGS4 gameplay so i can't wait to see how this plays as it's looking more like a perfected MGS3/Peacewalker gameplay. Kojima said it himself in numerous interviews that GZ is a prologue to Phatom Pain and it's actually a big part of the larger story and not just a tutorial, you will have a few main missions, side-missions and manage your homebase. (this game will be bigger than many of you think). The story plays out in the Time of Big Boss (Naked Snake) is about to change and follow his own convictions, anyways the story is quite complex and this will serve as a stepping stone and is welcomed by die-hard followers of the story. indeed for the casual who don't know about the game they will think it is the complete MGS5 but i've been reading alot and watching tons of vids and the MAN was very clear this is not the full game but will serve as an introduction to the world of BIG BOSS.

I don't think I could get into MGS games right now if I wanted to. Having not played any before, and the story being so deep (or so I hear), I'm sure I'd be lost or at the very least not be able to fully appreciate everything that's going on.

Seems like a steep price for what will most likely be an hour long mission. I'll still get it on day 1.

There is no information on the length, but I am not expecting much. Still very misleading title.

My opinion may change if tehre is more information, but at the moment, it looks like a cash in on fans for quick bucks.
