Solo: A Star Wars Trailer **SPOILERIFFIC THREAD**

Thanks for making this thread!

How cool was that, to see Darth freaking Maul again in a movie?

"OK, hold on, you contradicting SoB!", you're probably thinking... Yeah, I hate nearly everything from the prequels, save Ewan McGregor and Darth Maul, who only sucked because they gave him no real purpose to the story at all, in movie form.

Just because I don't like the prequels doesn't mean I don't want to see certain things from the prequels to be validated. He is definitely one of them, and now they have given him purpose as a character. He will very likely be in both of the next spinoff movies. His existence is being written into validation, IMO. Yes, I know that he's been in Clone Wars and Rebels, but him being in this movie was clearly a setup for the next two, and he got very short-changed in Episode I.

That is all.

I suspect your knowledge of Star Wars exceeds my own, so answer me this. In Rebels Maul isn’t affiliated to the Empire anymore. The Maul in Solo is from the same time/story arc, right? So that means when it shows him at the end there he isn’t working for the Emperor, right? He’s doing his own thing as the leader of a crime syndicate?

That is correct. He's the leader of the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate. This could make things interesting for the John Favereau TV series, as well.

Yeah they could definitely go somewhere with that. They could even film the ending that Rebels did. We’d get too see Obi wan again then.

As also, I do love Star Wars, but I have not read a current canon book or comic yet. All of these are now canon, so if it happens in a comic or a book, it is now part of the official SW universe. The Vader comics are supposed be really good.

Under GL, books were only considered for canon (but only movies and Clone Wars were actually official, and still are), but they had to all coexist. There was some overlapping stories and characters because there was no real keeper of these things, like there is now. That is why they are now called Star Wars: Legends. We are getting more and more characters and plot devices make their way over from legends in some form. Some get name changes. Qi'ra was similar to another female in Han' s life, in Legends.

Kinda totally agree with this entire vid

Me too! Great review! I agree with most of that... Gets kinda loud in the kookie audio snippets, but mostly well done.

That was REALLY funny! Also, it was a pretty darn good review at the very end. I really lost my sh!t at Queen Amidala's Jelly-vision, during the hologram rant. Good stuff!

Ron Howard confirmed there will be no sequel to the “underground hit” Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Well, there’s no sequel planned now. And it’s amazing to be a part of a Star Wars movie that seems to be a kind of underground hit, which is not what you’d expect. But that’s been an odd, strange journey for that movie.
