The guy my mom used to be married to claimed he had been on a fishing trip with a bunch of guys, one of whom was Johnny Knoxville. He said they partied pretty hard.
The country music group The Band Perry is from my hometown. The trios father is my sons docter.
Our 17th president, Andrew Johnson is from my hometown. The only president to be impeached so far.
My hometown courthouse is the only courthouse in the nation to have both a confederate and union soldiers statue on its lawn.
Park Overall who acted in the sitcom Empty Nest is from my hometown. She has also had parts in the films Biloxi Blues, Mississippi Burning, Talk Radio, and more recently, In the Family.

I forgot all about this! Not very dramatic, but here it is (I’m a little long-winded):
So I was visiting a friend who lived in Santa Monica. She picked me up from LAX, and said we had to run a few errands. Little did I know she was doing some accounting work for some big-time writer (we stopped at his house later…he lived 3 houses down from Kobe Bryant’s main home at the time!).
So we had to drop paperwork off at this gorgeous office building that was mostly made of glass. I’m from the NE so I was pretty jetlagged, and while we were walking down the hallway, I see these 2 rather big/tall black guys walking towards us. I very slowly realized it was Damon and Marlon Wayans. I was a big fan of In Living Color back in the 90s, so it was cool to see them.
But I didn’t realize I was staring at them, mainly because I couldn’t believe how tall they were. They both looked around 6’ 4”! Maybe their shoes were giving them extra height, but I was like ‘what…..?’ in my head.
So we are still walking towards each other and I’m in this weird headspace of jet lag and amazement at their height. But very quickly the vibe changed and I realized they were both staring daggers at me, probably because they saw me staring at them.
At that point I should have looked away, but I have this thing with celebrity, so I went with more of ‘well sh*t, I’m absolutely staring harder now’.
So as we were within a few feet of each other, I slipped my hands out of my pockets, assuming they were going to jump. At the last second I thought ‘I don’t want to embarrass my friend’, and I didn’t want to end up on TMZ, so as we brushed shoulders, I was literally looking up (I’m 5 ‘10” but 225lbs) at them, and I just gave a quick double nod, and they responded with the same.
A few seconds later my friend says ‘was that just REALLY uncomfortable?’ And I laughed and said ‘yeahhhhh, that was my fault!’
I also made eye contact with them from across the room later when I left, and they stared at me until I was out of the building.
