Sony Looking Into Buying New Studios And Purchased

I think Platinum is a great studio for Sony. They could make Heavenly Sword 2.

PlayStation’s boss says its recent acquisition spree is ‘not at all finished’

In terms of future M&A activity, the answer to that is we are not at all finished with our strategy of trying to grow PlayStation Studios inorganically,” he said during a Q&A session.

Ryan added: “As we transition from our historic game development strategy to a much broader and much wider market reach than we enjoy today, it is very likely that inorganic stimulus will be required to help us to realise these dreams.

“And to the extent that potential targets fit with our strategy, to the extent that potential targets allow us to accelerate the way in which we are able to deliver on our strategy, we will certainly consider farther M&A activity to add to our business portfolio.”

They have been working on their first party studios for a long time and it shows 😋

Bungie buyout hasn’t gone through yet? Are they waiting on the ftc or something?

I doubt Squanch wants to get bought out tho, but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No it's official. it finalized in July. That guy seems to be saying that tweet was from 2021 and it shows that he has a source that gave him correct info. I have no idea who he is, I've seen him on twitter before but I don't follow him.

They really should do Square Enix I feel.
Only if they give consent ;)

But in all seriousness, they probably don’t need to cos many have been indoctrinated of their titles being exclusive/associated with one another. I know people who didn’t know square made games for switch.

If they do get bought out it’ll probably be something similar to that of Bungie

Would be nice if Sony would just develop games on their own instead of buying everything and taking games away from others.

"There are rumors that Sony could acquire more video game studios in 2023 as well, which would potentially turn some third-party releases into first-party exclusives."

🧐

Merge meh

Should I? I feel it’s ok to have one general and one dedicated about the merger and one about the studio mergers, lol I think I have another thread but I forget what I titled it 😆

What say you?
