Sony to buy Square?

Why don’t they list their sources of said “youtubers” and how is it rumored of a ps5 patch for ff7r when they had already announced it a good while ago?

Its not outside the realm of possibility. SE would be a relative cheap purchase. I would hate missing out on all those Square title on PC though.

Sony has moved to be multiplatform so you would be safe.

Sony is selectively multiplatform. With console coming first and select titles coming to PC years later or never at all.
This is why I don't have to many issues with MS buying up studios. I know that most if not all titles with be day and date available on console and PC. With Sony and Nintendo, good luck.

I don't see how this would help Sony... They were already getting Square games as console exclusive

So why would they spend all that extra money to buy the company?

FROM would be a better buy IMO

Doesn't square own eidos and crystal dynamics? Two of my fave developers.

This might happen..over the next 24 months? That doesn’t sound like deep discussions are taking place but rather a 2 year window to be proven right.

Well the latest tomb raider and dues ex games were pretty awesome, don't know what happened to the avengers though.

The first, the Tomb Raider reboot is really good, 2nd was o.k., but the 3rd one was poor IMO

Dues Ex MD is good, but I liked Human Revolution more

So that's why I say they use to be better, oh and the poor Just Cause efforts make me feel even worse towards Eidos

Haha... Ouch on that Avengers game

It feels like square needs a clear directional leader, many their latest games feel... Directionless?
Sony handles their devs great, at least looking at what they release.
Would be good imo.
Sad about switch not getting releases though

Doesn't really sell on Xbox from the looks of it?

Not sure. But was just saying for myself since I love Final Fantasy games. Played most of them since FF7 on the PS1 except ff13-2 and 3, and the online ones. Beat FF 7, 8, 9, X, X-2, 12, 13, 15, FF7 remake part 1.

Are the final fantasy games connected? I haven't played any before but I've been playing dragons quest on GP and having a surprisingly fun time and makes me want to play more JRPGs.

I don't believe so, not unless they are part of the same numbering group (X, X-2).

They aren't going to buy Square

X is a good one to start with since it has voice acting and its gameplay is a bit quicker than the PS1 games.

All the ones on game pass are great. Unless 15 is still on there. That game sucks.

Not connected at all. Each one is a story told in a different world unless it's the same number in the beginning like x, x-2, 13, 13-2 etc. Then that would be in the same universe.

Several potential buyers have shown interest in Square Enix, CTFN quoted two bankers familiar with the matter.

It is not clear whether the target of interest is only the game department or the entire company.

According to Bloomberg data, Square Enix's digital entertainment business accounted for 72% of total sales in the fiscal year ended at the end of March 2020.

Bloomberg Intelligence pointed out on the 11th that "the growth of mobile games in the world may continue to slow down." It is said that it will be much stricter than in 2020, when sales surged due to restrictions on going out due to the new corona virus.
