Dont believe a revival for a second, but if a western studio can salvage it on budget, they might as well.

Considering how efficient and good at these types of games Platinum is if they couldn't do finish it I am not sure who can.

Standard operating procedure. They'll renew the TM for years.

Agreed. In the same way that Nintendo renews the Eternal Darkness trademark every year and Sony the Twisted Metal. I don't expect a new scalebound project anytime soon but I'd like to be pleasantly surprised.

Does this guy have any credibility? Starting from scratch doesn't much sense.

X-rays doesn't have credibility. He makes guesses based on existing info. Of course MS would keep the IP. Doesn't mean it's going to ever be developed. They've trademarked names for years without ever using those IPs again.

Honestly I'd like to see them take the work done with Scalebound and give it to Sega as a starting point for a new Panzer Dragoon Saga RPG. Sega has recently talked about rebooting old IPs into new AAA games.

There was nothing interesting about the character or feel of Scalebound. It doesn't need to be made. The tech used for the Dragons and the world seem like they could be used for something though.

So all he's saying is that SB *might* be possible in the future. The rumor is the possibility of developing it is being discussed at MS. That's all.

If it was true then could mean PG did dine naughty stuff like rumoured....

I'm fine waiting for official news. I don't know how people tolerate the character of these "insider" types.

They talk like smug anime villains a few too many times.

It was Twitter. Welcome to go read the Scalebound topic of you want to find it

So nothing then?

And Kotaku broke the story.

What you are talking about is some random person on Twitter saying they heard its Platinum's fault and you jumped to the conclusion that Platinum stole the funding to use on Nier and you seem to be trying to make that a real thing despite there being zero evidence. I mean of course it could be true but so could 1000000 other things.

Nope they got it from someone from YouTube and gave him f*** all credit like the scumv site they are

My inside sources say Scalebound was cancelled because The Wolf King broke in and stole all the funding to buy banana bread

This is now on the internet so it must be fact

Fair enough

Did he say they diverted the funds to another game?

That came day or so later. Think he simply said MS were justified in cutting ties and someone else came out with them using the funds elsewhere

That was somebody else and they didn't even say that. If you trust the person who broke the news why don't you trust his explanation for why it was cancelled?
