Spider-Man Far From Home - Spoiler And He’s Back In The MCU, One Last Go?

Its fake news

Doubtful, a ton of pictures of "sold out" theaters with 25 plus empty seats for multiple showings is fishy. It's not about it being a "woman" thing either, it's trying to change the perception that the movie had. Larson wasn't exactly the best PR rep for the film, she was creating controversy and taking attention away from the movie and putting it on herself. It was an MCU movie so it was going to do well regardless, they were just playing a PR game by doing it.

I love how Marvel fans make Sony the bad guy, Marvel are the ones that sold their characters off to other studios. Sony has invested a ton of time and money into the Spider-Man film franchise and they are just supposed to give that up now? People feel so entitled these days it's pathetic.

If this happened someone credible would pick it up. It wouldn't just be people on youtube claiming she hates white people. You don't think people not really caring about the supposed controversy is a more likely explanation?

Disney wisely knows people are going to jump to their defense. Look how many cheered them buying Fox.

Disney has grown and owns so much that I don't think anyone is really going to go after them if it's not something serious (well other than Bernie Sanders) and this wasn't that big of a deal, it's really not much different than WWE giving out a bunch of free tickets to their shows to claim they are sold out which they do with every pay per view and have done for decades. Perception is everything in PR, you want people to think every seat in every theater had a butt in it during opening weekend.

Well why didn't Disney do it for the movies that actually disappointed? You could take 30 million off Captain Marvel's opening and it still would have looked good.

Because of the controversy surrounding the star, controversy she created, plus their biggest movie ever was coming up right after that and they didn't want anything but good news being reported before Endgame released.

Sony have put the blame on Disney

That's where it belongs, when you go from getting 5% plus other financial incentives and access to a character someone else owns the rights to in your movies for free to demanding 50% that's just insane.

People keep talking about Sony rebooting again but I can't imagine why they would have to do that at this point unless Tom Holland was willing to walk away from his contract which doesn't seem likely.

Yeah that would be a stupid move and I don't know why he'd even consider it, hell Sony chose him for the part in the first place, Disney wanted Asa Butterfield and I can't imagine him as Peter Parker.

And he's going to be Nathan Drake for them for some reason

Plenty they can do here especially if they can extend his contract. Venom, Sinister Six, maybe some multiverse Tobey MaGuire shenanigans. 10 years from now you reboot it with maybe a non Peter Parker Spider.

Seeing rumblings of a new deal being agreed. Possibly 6 more Tom Holland spidey movies. Disney covers all production costs. 70/30 box office split in Sony"s favour.
