Spider-Man headed to PS Now, playable on PC

I thought PSNow streams at a max 720p. I mean, yeah, it's playable on PC, but 720p isn't the best way to play it...
Millions play 720p on the original Xbox One and Switch and enjoy it. Sony is also adding 1080p to PS Now.

Started playing this yesterday, seems decent so far. Reminds me of the Batman games.

I must say, though, swinging through the city is not as much fun as i thought. It is way too slow.

Wait until you get some upgrades and you'll need to gain swift command of the controls and timing. Timing is critical as you'll need it to perfectly vault off building ledges at the right moment to get a speed boost. Once you get to that point you'll be able to web-swing around the City like lightning. Ok, maybe not like lightning but you'll be hella fast.

Damn. now I'm getting in the mood to fire this up again. I never did complete the DLC.

This is why I hate games doing this. It should be that way from the start. I should be fast and strong from second 1.

I hear ya, some players like you want the power from the start. But for me I like the build up in the power fantasy. I like experiencing the gradual upgrade of my character as the game goes on. It gives the player something to strive for to keep playing and keeps things interesting as the game progresses.

Its fake progression. You are an established super hero. You still have progression out side of that anyway, like suit gadgets and upgrades that have zero effect to the speed and power but add variety and utility.

Yeah that's an issue with too many games, you start off "weak" and they want you to earn the power ups as motivation to play and by the time you are actually a badass the game is almost over. Spider-Man is a great game though with some awesome moments and characters and I enjoyed the feel of the swinging around the city but it's been a while so I don't remember it being slow I'll have to go back and play it again.

Back to your original point about having to learn powers that should be for origin story games, it makes sense there but once you are established they should have the basics fully powered up and maybe have you learn some new things or maybe come up with some new tech. This is why they still haven't done a good Superman game, for some reason devs can't figure out how to make a powerful character have a challenge without depowering him.

It is a good game.

Exactly, progression can be done through tech via new skills/abilities, but never with physical attributes. For characters like Superman, who doesn't usually use tech, you can do it via lore. For example: Maybe you have hidden crystals that you find, you take it to your ship/lair and and unlock something as well as learning background info on Crypton, Cryptonians, his parentsk, etc. But again, his physical stuff should never change.

They also seem to forget Superman has a lot of powerful villains to fight too, it's a lack of creativity that has kept us from have a good Superman game, it's not the character even though a lot of people seem to want to blame him being OP for any issues.

He is pretty OP. I LMAO in Justice League when they try to attack him. I was like, why are they in this movie.

It just seems to be the trend in games. I guess it is the easy way.

It's funny though, in the animated shows he's always the first one taken out because they can't figure out how to keep him from beating everyone up lol. They do a better job with him in the animated movies, just bring in one of his powerful enemies and all is fine.

It could be a lack of creativity to make a Supes game or a combination of things. I mean, sure he has powerful villains to battle against in his rogues gallery. But how do you make a game around that without it feeling like a fighting game? What's the game play loop to keep the player interested and having fun? How many systems do you need in place to support the structure of the game beyond flight, do you bring in destruction tech and to what extent? Ho do the devs use Kryptonite, Red Sunlight or Magic of which he's weak against or do you even use those things at all? And this being a corporate product how long do you really think the publisher will allow for development time to get this project where it needs to be?

Supes is not easy to write for let alone create a game around.

It'd have to be open world and it's not all about fighting that's just part of it but clearly there are plenty of people who can challenge him, Darkseid, Brainiac, Black Adam, Mongul, Trigon, Lobo etc. A few of them have armies of robots or soldiers that could also take up time in combat like Brainiac's drones or Darkseid's parademons.

I've been playing this over the holiday weekend and been having a great time. Traversing the city is a lot of fun.
I just finished it and I loved the parts where you play as Spider Man. The other stealth parts I hated.

And kinda defeats the point of playing on PC anyway. You want an actual port. I cant imagine playing these games through streaming anyway. Blech.
