Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Depends how much actual content there is? Games like tomb raider, batman, fallen order take much longer to experience everything, oris a cheaper indie game, Halo and gears obviously have mp, haven't played uncharted so can't comment on them.

If there's plenty of content outside of main story 50 bucks ain't too bad.

I'm really dreading buying first party games tbh, godfall is 160 bucks and demons souls is 140, definitely going to have to wait for pre owned titles, I can't justify those prices.

I started playing the original game last night. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long, I'm absolutely loving it so far. I'll probably put a few more hours into it tonight, but I know I'll be all XSX after tomorrow.

If I magically am able to find somewhere to buy a PS5 online on the 12th, I think I may bite the bullet and buy the Ultimate Edition so I can play the rest of the original game on the PS5 and go straight into Miles from there.

Loved the original game. Played through it in 2 weeks I believe.

Its a freakn' awesome game and probably the best Spidey game to date. I have all the DLC but haven't touched it yet and assumed Sony would provide the upgrade to PS5 free of charge. But unfortunately Sony is proving to be a little stingy at this point.

If I'm able to get a PS5 this Thursday I probably will bite the bullet and purchase the Remastered Edition for PS5 since I still have all the DLC from the base game and really want to play Miles expansion with all the new graphical options.

I just don't understand why Sony seems hell bent on destroying the consumer good will they built up over the life of the PS4.

The one and only game I have experienced Ray-Tracing is with WD: Legion on XSX and its hugely transformative. So I'll happily take locked 30fps with all the graphical enhancements for Spiderman.

I thought Ray Tracing would only be on large structures like buildings. But to my surprise you also see detailed reflections on things like vehicles and puddles on the ground. Its awesome and I can't wait to see it in Spiderman.

At first I thought I would take performance mode at 60 FPS but now I'm not so sure. I'll have to try on both and see which I would prefer but sounds like both will be a good time.

Hopefully you can switch the modes on the fly. Would be nice to be able to switch over to 60flps really quick if you're having a tough fight or traversal mission. This is definitely a game where I see myself switching back and forth between modes.

I thought the first one felt fine at 30fps so I'll check both modes out, I know with Demon's Souls I'm going for performance mode because you can hardly tell the difference and the quality of the assets is so high that the extra resolution isn't worth the performance hit. Spider-Man has RT but I don't know how often I'll be going slow enough around town to really notice.

So far so good. More of the original. The app is a fun addition. I like the snow too.

Which mode are you guys preferring at the moment? I definitely see some ray tracing in JInca's first picture! Can you switch between the two modes pretty easily in game, or do you have to do it from the main menu?

30fps. Not sure how fast you can switch between them.

I haven't even tried the performance mode to be honest with you, the game feels good enough at 30 that I don't want to make the graphical sacrifices.

I might switch to performance mode. This seems to be taxing the system.

Boss Spoiler

So there is a boss that took me 2 hours to figure out. It’s the one that throws military vehicles at you in a big open room. I never died but always close. If you want to know, the trick is to max your energy 3 bars, the L1+Square to smash energy into the engine that is left behind after he throws the vehicle at you. He will throw two at you. After you do the first engine leave it alone and max up 3 bars again and do the same to the second engine. Now both engines are throwable. (You can’t throw engine one then max health, you have to have both engines throwable in a row. You will want to dodge his pieces of the floor he throws at you then throw engine 1 at him. This will stun him. Then throw engine 2 at him. This will stun him more. Then go give him the beat down. You will have to do all that again multiple times. Then a cut scene will happen. Then no more engines but now you will fight him by hand. You will need to max you energy bars to 3 again and I think it’s L1+Triangle+circle but I could be wrong. It’s the venom move. You will have to rinse and repeat the 3 max bars and venom move on him multiple times. Then cut scene. It was the longest I have spent on a boss and frustrating to finally figure out how it had to be done. I didn’t realize I had to max out my energy to 3 bars to smash the engines with electric power. I saw it said L1+Square on the engine but it wouldn’t do anything when I was trying it. Then it took me awhile to realize that I had to throw two in a row instead of one at a time. Now that I know how to do it, it’s fine. I just wanted to avoid YouTube.

I can confirm that removing the visor mods fixed the stuttering and frame rate dropping to 2fps. After I turned off those mods, it’s back to being smooth as silk.

I have the game at 92% completion now. I should have close to 100% of everything by tomorrow. It's addicting doing all the stuff after you finish the campaign. Side missions, postcards, missions on app, getting all the suits, skills, maxing out health. I will probably get shot for saying this, but Miles Morales and the previous Spider-Man remind me a lot of Crackdown 3. Traversing the city, similar artwork, VERY similar side missions and completion objectives, scaling buildings. I loved CD3, and I really do like this game too.

I will do the New Game+ for Miles, as there are 3 skills that can only be obtained in New Game+ to get that achievement. I just hope I don't have to complete the entire game to get them, as I don't want to play through it again with such a back log.

Playing on PS4. Love the "into the verse" suit and mods. Still early but faithful to the first game, which us good. Miles is very likeable.
I want to play this so bad. But I want to wait and see if there will be another round of PS5's available for purchase soon. If not then I'll go with the PS4 version. I'm not helping myself by watching every Spidey video that I come across which makes waiting that much harder.

I really like what they did with the animations for Miles especially while web-swinging. And I also like that the combat for Miles looks familiar and different at the same time.

If only Square would have made a more focused Avengers game like Insomniac did with Spiderman instead of trying to milk the franchise with a Live Service model. I truly believe Square would have made tons more revenue if they had while also preserving the option for future revenue from the release of post-launch content. This Spiderman game just highlights what could have been for Avengers.

I would've tried to get a PS5, but I really don't like the look of it. I'm hoping for a black one or a slimmer look sometime late next year.

Totally agree with the look of the PS5 being a turn-off. But I figure I could ignore that for the sake of beauty it'll present on my TV which is where my eyes will be more focused on.

I have a friend who's an artist and asked if he could skin the PS5 in some cool art work set against a black background. He said sure, I can produce some art work of you choosing set on black adhesive paper that you can stick on the front/under side of your PS5. But he also said the adhesive paper he's thinking of using could act like a blanket to your newly purchased PS5 and heat it up. So I quickly said forget it I'll deal with the white console, lol.
