Which is why they need to do something now to get some positive PR and hope to get some holiday sales. Their planned revenue is gone one way or another. Only way to salvage it now is announce free DLC and zero microtransactions for the life of the game, then put the thing out for $40 at the holiday digitally and hope people jump.
This is my big problem with the internet rage machine - they get a game changed... and don't buy it anyway.
Good PR? Perhaps, but is EA supposed to eat the cost of the DLC? That is not a sustainable model at all. Sounds like a good way to not get new games at all. I really wish people can take a balanced stance on this stuff.
If it wasn't Star Wars, they could just have Cosmetic MC's that pay for new maps. Maybe even have a Halo 5 Warzone style mode with crazy stuff you can buy that can supplement continued support.
