Official Thread Star Wars Battlefront 2

A few leaks coming out on the reddit today.

It's not huge stuff, just a screen from the story mode and an unfinished collection screen for the multiplayer. There's other stuff going on there but these seem the most legitimate.

I bought the PC version earlier this month but didn't play it much. Definitely sketchy stuff with it online.

This looks like the complete game that Battlefront 1 SHOULD have been all along. I can't wait to play it.

I tried Star Wars Battlefront for the first time last night off EA Access. I had some fun with it. It's just pretty basic. Hopefully the sequel knocks it out the park I would pick it up.

Leaks continue on the reddit. A full map list for the galactic assault mode, which EA has since tweeted, some supposed insider revealing a s*** ton about what characters will be in at launch and who are planned in future updates, vehicle options, etc. There's a lot of stuff getting compiled there but due to its nature I'd rather those interested seek it out themselves. I don't like dealing in things from "insiders."

If you're interested, the battlefront reddit is the place to go. If the people leaking are genuine, anyway.

Eventually they can't give that s*** away. Never buy season passes. You'll get owned in the end. They still trying to sell the Gears 4 season pass and you get no benefits whatsoever really..

That's like I saw that NBA 2k18 had a $60 version, $100 version and a $150 version. Like who in the hell buys a $150 basketball game?

For real. When i picked up my copy they're like, there's also the legen- i'm like no. Already know what you're going to say. I'll take the standard copy. Really terrible state the gaming industry is in right now with these GAAS and pay to win nonsense.

Believe it or not, some people only play one or two games though. So sinking hundreds into one game that they love is more than worth it to them. I'm a 2k nut, but that's a bit much. Mostly stick to playing online instead of MyCareer mode though.

I'm so pumped for this. I preordered awhile back. I really enjoyed the first one even if it was thin. It was the perfect casual shooter for me. I love more intense and competitive games too, but sometimes a game like this is just perfect.

Played the beta for about 30 minutes tonight, it's fun. One thing that is bothering me though, I hope we can turn the chromatic aberration off, I hate that effect and it's pretty strong in this game and it takes away from the overall look. Also I think there is something wrong with the HDR right now, the loading screens go from nice and clean and clear to dark and drab and the game always has that look during gameplay. I've never had a problem with HDR on any other games but for some reason with this one it's making the game look worse at the moment instead of better.

Really quick arcade mode clip.

I'll try the beta on my Pro once it goes public, but my preorder is on Xbox. Xbox X is my master now... :)

Played some on Xbox just now. It was a mistake to play it on my 1440p monitor (stretches out a 1080p image). The game appears to be very low resolution - 720p? Made my eyes bleed.

Much more fun than Battlefront 1 though!

Now to try it on my PC.

edit: tried on PC 1440p/Ultra. Not sure why but the game just is hard to look at, even at that high resolution. Will need to figure out how to tweak my settings. Maybe I just have it too bright?

Can you turn the chromatic aberration off on the PC version? it's way too strong on the PS4 Pro.

Nope. No option to turn off CA. Also, I don't get the excessive amount of simulated scan lines on every single menu screen.

But yeah, it still is a fun game. Feels much more solid and the space battles feel much better as well.

Yeah that hologram effect is kind of silly, they should remove it.

Have they said what the resolution on the XB version is? SWBF1 was 720 I believe, and looks really good for that res.

When I played the alpha earlier on my PC this wasn't an issue. I was playing at 4K and everything looked good.

I preordered on PC and I haven't gotten access to the beta yet.............

Took some screenshots and examined them in Photoshop. The CA is nasty. That explains why it hurts my eyes. Any object in the game that reflects sunlight will have CA. Imagine a textured surface that sunlight is bouncing off of - CA up the wazoo.

Do they only use this to mask problems in games? I don't know anyone who actually thinks that effect looks good.
