Star Wars IX - The Rise Of Skywalker ** Contains Spoilers** Enter at your own risk!

Can badmonk talk about the stunts they did? Just curious. I was thinking about that at one point when seeing the storm troopers tossed around so much lol.

I wish I could get a cool job like that. C'mon someone let me drive for the Mad Max Fury Road sequel
These people think it so hard to do. I fall down stairs and crash cars too, it is very easy.

I just got back from it. I loved it, as did my son, my wife and my brother in law.

we had a lot of action cut. I hope JJ releases an extended cut with deleted scenes etc at a later date.
there is 3 fight scenes where at least 70% of the action was cut. Disappointed with this but I still enjoyed the fights as they were.
I agree about the fights being enjoyable.

I enjoyed the film and felt it was a fitting conclusion. You could tell Abrams was trying to course correct from TLJ, he did a good job trying to close this thing out. Some moments I loved and when the “galaxy assembled” towards the end that brought tears in my eyes. Taking my oldest son to see it next weekend.

Overall it’s a entertaining enjoyable film. Exactly what I wanted.

I know this was supposed to wrap things up, but I could totally see this continuing.

Hopefully they learn to never go in wildly different directions like this between movies. Honestly I think the best thing will be breaking away from the originals. The time to do a true Return of the Jedi sequel was last century. These new movies get better when you realize that the old characters are just background for the real story with Rey and Kylo.

Anyway the plot was predictable and had some holes you could fly a star destroyer through, but I had fun. I went in saying "just entertain me" and got what I wanted.

Seriously, I was disappointed in Kylo being dragged into a Vader redemption path. I think it would have been cool if he was the final Arch-villain, perhaps himself killing Palpatine even if that meant the Emperor's spirit passing to him instead. He seemed commited and would be cool with that if it came with a major power upgrade.

Also I'm half serious here, but as Rey reached out to the Jedi of history, I wish that one that was heard back from was Mace Windu. Then contrive something in the story so that Finn gets a purple light saber and channel the rightous fury of Mace Windu's Force Spirit for a motherf***ing rematch.

Yes that's ludicrous, but it would have been amazing.

I should be a director.

Yep. They just wont leave the Skywalker and Vadar names alone.

Rey and Kylo. A poor Skywalker and poormans failed Vadar.

Sounds better than what 90% of Hollywood come up with.

I was also thinking how Finn just hooked up with a crew of fellow ex-Storm Troopers and how they were also wasted running space horses.

They should have been used to hijack the bridge of a Star Destroyer. This could have a really bad ass moment for the Rebels to use the expertise of Troopers on their side to turn that kind of firepower against the fleet or even aim the planet destroyer straight at Palpatine.

Just got back from watching rise of Skywalker and loved it. 8/10
a lot of the action and fight sequences we did got cut but still turned out pretty good.
ROS>TFA>TLJ
Do you have a pic or scene you can show us that you were in??

no I wasn’t in any scenes. I have retired from actually performing (too old and slow now lol), I now help design the action. I was fight coordinator on ROS.
i was pleased with the action in Rise, but 3 of the sequences we did had at least 80% cut out, so I was a little disappointed with that as we put a lot of hard work into them.
maybe deleted scenes or directors cut at a later date....

my guess is he was all the knights ren, just green screened in there, and several troopers

haha unfortunately no. like I said above, I don’t really perform now. It’s a hard game and after 27 years of doing this I now just choreograph the action:grin:

Saw it. Didn't love it. Liked Fallen Heroes story much more.
