Official Thread Star Wars Outlaws

Sounds promising, but I don't have the highest hopes. The Division 2 got real stale real fast for me, hoping to see a lot of improvements from their development team.

Also, we got a couple years to wait probably, rumors are that these Star Wars games being announced are going to release after their exclusivity with EA is contractually done.

This is exciting. In my opinion the best parts of The Division franchise were the campaigns. As for end-game, well it was fun for a while. And there is no doubt this new Star Wars game will look beautiful.

I wonder who the game will revolve around. Jedi/Sith, Bounty Hunter, ect? I'd like a Bounty Hunter focused open world game. It would make sense given the popularity of The Mandalorian.

The fact that this game is being made is proof of that.
This announcement could be a way to keep Star Wars games coming out after the end of the current deal in place with EA, set to expire in 2023. EA was the sole publishing house to make games for Star Wars. I hope going forward there will be no exclusivity so that it can allow more studios to produce games in that universe instead of being stifled by one publisher.

It looks like that's the way Disney is proceeding. At least that's the impression I get with this announcement as well as the recent announcement of the Indiana Jones game being developed.

I was reading an article about how many studios don't like working on licensed properties because they are not in total control creatively and have to put up a large upfront fee just to work on the property. And with no guarantee of profitability its a risk some studios just can't afford. Thus why a deal with EA/Ubisoft is a logical choice with their deep pockets.

Watch it be a Star Wars skin over what they've been doing with Beyond Good and Evil 2. That seems like it'd fit.
