Star Wars Rogue Squadron

Need to know how they are handling next gen before biting and I'm hungry.

They have not said a "no" to anything, but they've also not said anything to show that they are going to do anything to the game other than gameplay patches.

People on reddit are actually begging for paid DLC to expand it.

My guess? The game has no future revenue, so I don't think we're going to see any next gen updates or additional content. The game is actually getting a lot of positive buzz, but it doesn't seem to be exploding either.

Overall I think the game is great. I think with crossplay it will have a small but dedicated community. I'm not expecting any new content or next gen patch though, so I think it will end up being something to keep me busy until next gen.

That said, they could announce new DLC if they think it is selling well enough.

I can see them adding more maps, more ships, more modes etc. I'd love to see a B-Wing for example.

As to how they'll finance the game, I'm not sure. It will either have to be paid DLC and or some kind of store. If they expanded the content further they could eventually do season passes. I think this game has been a surprise hit for them to be honest.

I wouldn't get my hopes up. It is the 18th most played game on Xbox right now. It has been far from a flop of course, it is well reviewed and well received. Unless they are announcing some sort of season pass very soon though, I don't see it happening.

Anything could happen though, they kept supporting Battlefront for a long time. Those updates were very slow and spread out though.

Thrustmaster stuff is good. Currently have the T.16000M FCS Hotas for Elite Dangerous. Definitely overkill for this game but for something like Elite or Flight Sim that has a lot more controls it comes in handy. Don't think it runs on console anyways.

I really hate EA!

This game has so much potential! Look at how much Rare has added to Sea of Thieves. It also started pretty bare-bones. Now they have an ongoing story, a liner story mode, an arena, pets, fishing, factions, etc. It all just builds up the culture, and keeps people entertained... Keep people interested, then sell currency to buy the cosmetic upgrades. Upgrades could include ships, paint jobs, characters, droids, etc. There is no pay to win with buying cosmetic upgrades! This is why Rocket League is now free! Rocket League is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of how this game could last YEARS!!! They designed the game completely wrong, without the path of adding content, like new arenas, et all. How can EA not figure this out?

It is EA. If it isn't a cash cow it is a flop. EA as a company aren't great at post launch content or support either. Hence why I'm waiting for it to hit EA Play.

The problem is two little letters. E and A. Right or wrong, they've burned a lot of bridges with gamers. Some of us see them as having improved and actually learned from their mistakes, but others will just never, ever let them up off the mat so to speak.
