Star Wars Rogue Squadron

Massive hype for a trailer... this rarely ends well. When are companies going to learn that this kind of hype is just going to backfire?

I need to see some gamplay. They sort of made it look like it is only 5v5 which isn't terrible but seems kind of small.

They need to make a console only crossplay option, otherwise you'll see PC cheaters take over just like they have COD.

COD doesn't allow you to disable PC cross play? I think RARE might have finally added this ability with Sea of Thieves.

In smaller game modes, you can only turn off crossplay completely (I'm on Xbox and would like to crossplay with PS4 but not PC). For the larger modes like Warzone and Ground War, it forces you to turn it on. So, PC players get better framerate, FOV slider, mouse and keyboard as advantages and that doesn't take all the cheaters into account.

If I play on console with a controller, I want everyone on a level playing field.

If crossplay becomes a big thing I honestly may just build a gaming PC and skip consoles. You see mouse and keyboard players jump in a lobby and everyone just bails.

The idea is intriguing but yeah, need to see some actual gameplay.

It's stupid asf, yes people have been clamouring for crossplay but it was always for between consoles, PC players can play amongst themselves as far as I'm concerned.

I've probably played that Battlefront VR mission 50 times. So immersive. Turning around to see the R2 like droid behind me was cool, then when the ship was damaged I turned around again and it was literally making repairs.

Then getting to see the scale of the Star Destroyer. That's another thing I love about VR, you get to see the actual size of these massive machines, which is not possible to convey in nonVR.

So do we think this will have a VR offering on xbox as well? Are there VR headsets that work with xbox?

Maybe at some point, and no.

Edit: and when people say that VR is a nice check-box for PlayStation, but not Xbox, I think that this is the most literal example so far. It's right in the listing that the game is for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and the game includes full VR support for PSVR and PC...

I always enjoyed the battlefront space battles, I wonder how different this will be? I know it'll have single player missions but I believe it's focus is on MP. It looks like it's 5v5 so it'll be smaller as far as player controlled ships but hopefully there are still other bots going around fighting as well.

Doubt it. The difference there is that CoD Warzone is a free game where people when they are banned could just make another account. I don't think this is going to be a FTP game and therefore much more risk if caught cheating.

I wonder if it would be $35 at launch through EA Access? I'd do that if I wasn't more interested in the PSVR version.

What bugs me about these kinds of games is EA likes to make them into a huge grind game to level up, like they did with Battlefront 2. That game forced you to sink hundreds of hours in to unlock things to even be decent. They pull out the pay to win, but replace it with rewarding only those who puts tons of hours in.
