Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I just hope all the aliens rise up next year so it will get some Oscar's nods. :txbcool::wink:

Fisher had finished filming but I'm guessing rewrights and shooting will happen soon

No cgi leia confirmed.

Could still be recast? Apparently she was to have 2 big scenes in the next film.

Jedi is Jedi plural. It also could mean Luke, as it calls him that in the opening scroll of TFA. It also could mean Ben. Who knows? I love it!

I like the name and I know already there are going to be some watery eyes watching Carrie Fisher's last portrayal of the universe's most iconic princess.

My theory: I've read the comics so this is it...

Luke is training Rey to be a 'Grey' Jedi. When you think about it neither the Jedi or the Sith can bring balance to the force. The Jedi seek to fight for the side of light, yet are flawed themselves. (In Clone Wars **the movie**the Council keeps secrets hidden from Anakin**they distrust him. Anakin even reaches out to Yoda when dreaming about Padme dying and Yoda effectively says 'deal with it, and don't let it bother you.'
This can't be how balance comes to the force.

Meanwhile the Sith, who use emotion and hatred are the polar opposite. Giving in to their 'human' feelings, yet also showing that they can have compassion. (Vader during Return of the Jedi, becoming more and more attached to his son Luke, and then even killing the Emperor.)
Thus this duality is formed in both the Jedi and the Sith. They are the opposites yet share traits associated with their opposites.
In a way this mirrors everybody. We are all striving to be different, but the best among us share traits from everything and end up being the greatest.

Luke says in the Teaser that 'I know one thing is for certain, that the Jedi must end'. Perhaps this is a realization that neither the Sith or the Jedi can bring balance to the force, and only ONE individual who combines the best of both can truly bring balance to the force. Hence training Rey, as the Last Jedi. A Grey Jedi.

EDIT: ^^Even that poster seems to justify my theory. Rey is the 'dividing line' between the 2 opposites.

Yeah, that poster is pretty BADASS! Also of note: this is this first display of the Jedi order insignia in or for the actual movie (it's in the teaser, also). It's also sort of where the lightsaber blade should be...notice the blue to red color! That's something right there!

Sounds good, actually it makes perfect sense!

Just watched Mark Hamil's presentation tribute to Carrie Fisher...one wonderful hour of genuine emotion and great stories. Very thankful that this was offered for the world to see:

I think Luke tapped into the Dark Side when he whooped Vader and chopped his hand off. He's learned from that experience or has an idea of how far he can go using that power without letting himself succumb to it. He might trash some of the First Order forces or even chop Kylo Ren's hand off in the process and yet still be able to show mercy. Kind of an extreme attempt to demonstrate to Ren that Snoke's mentoring is limiting him and any urge to follow the light does not make him weak. This is kind of what Darth Vader realized when it was to late.

It might also be that for advanced Force users, Light and Dark are really just interchangeable fighting styles just as someone in Martial Arts might switch up different fighting techniques and weapons. I'm curious if Luke might even use Force Lightning.

Rey will be on the side of light and will be the Last Jedi taking Luke's place.

As for Finn, I'm wondering if we'll learn more about how he became a Storm Trooper and why he was able to shake off the brainwashing.
