No idea. If people want to play Bethesda games so bad buy a Series S for $300 (or cheaper later in the gen). This s*** isn’t that expensive.
Or game pass for pc or ultimate on the go, they just need like three months to finish a game , so get that 3 months for a buck deal and carry on with their life

Honestly. There's no reason to apologize to Sony fans. There's all kinds of ways to play Starfield if they want. Too many to be apologizing for that's for sure.
Come on. We are talking about a big 3rd party publisher here. Playstation users were hyped for Starfield too. Saying "all kinds of ways to play" is laughable and ignorant. There are 3 ways, buy a PC, buy an Xbox, or stream from a mobile device...if you have one. The first 2 are expensive, and the latter is a variable quality service.

I think an apology shows a little class. Shows a little sign that they acknowledge the disappointment.

Why apologize?

Bethesda had shot themselves in the foot.
I don't know how much the rest of you know about Playstation culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in Xbox where you can become successful by being an a****** TV focused console. If you screw over a Playstationier, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the Playstationers, after hearing about Starfield exclusivity, will not purchase anything Bethesda for either system, nor will they purchase any of Bethesda's Playstation timed exclusives Deathloop and Ghostwire. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Bethesda has alienated an entire market with this move.
Pete Hines, by publicly apologizing is trying to regain his honor with Playstation gamers but it is too late, Bethesda can kiss their business goodbye.

Why apologize?
I thought it was a classy move to apologize. A whole host of games that were once available on every platform suddenly aren't anymore. Its business sure, but its nice to acknowledge this change for gamers.

I've read some say how no one complained about Sony games being exclusive. And I think that's because those are wholly created Sony games that were never available on any other platform (aside from the sprinkling on PC). Its the same for Forza, Halo or Gears. No one questioned those games platform exclusivity because those were always known as MSFT games.

Now, all of a sudden a large amount of games and beloved franchises are limited to the Xbox ecosystem. Its a great win for MSFT and will surely help grow their gaming ambitions. But it also cuts off a lot of gamers from games they loved. I think once tempers cool PS only gamers will be more willing to game on Xbox or PC for games they really want to experience.

I’m in limbo between awake and asleep and I read that as gambling addiction 😆

Most casuals, IMO, wouldn't know the difference. The more aggressive and outspoken fans that are speaking out about not having these new future games on the PlayStation are LITERALLY the same fans that say they don't need an Xbox because they have a PC, and play all the Xbox games on PC.

Starfield is a new IP, so no history lost there. Redfall is a new IP, so no history is lost there. The current ENTIRE library of Zenimax games are on PlayStation and are not being removed. Fallout 76 and Elderscrolls Online will continue to receive the online support in line with Xbox.

Elder Scrolls 6 being an Xbox exclusive is indeed taking away an IP from the PS console. But again, those outspoken fans already have a PC, so they will indeed be playing Elder Scrolls 6. Elder Scrolls 6 will be playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Microsoft Windows PC, Android and iOS. So the game will actually be playable by more people than ever before.

Sony has no problem going to Zenimax and asking for Starfield to be exclusive (rumor). They have no problem making Xbox fans having to wait a year for Ghostwire and Deathloop. Or their timed exclusive (and full exclusive) for Final Fantasy (which is on both platforms, but they prevent Xbox gamers from getting some of them).

Almost every single developer that Sony has was acquired. Their first dev studio was Psygnosis which they bought. Bend, Guerilla, Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, bought them all. Polyphony and Santa Monica were pretty much developed from the ground up, though Santa Monica was a lot of poaching (like The Initiative).

PlayStation Studios became by buying third parties and putting them into contracts.

No. Just no.

Let's be honest, it has been said over and over again, Bethesda has always been an Xbox developing favorite no matter what. They had a long history and success together. Playstation is very small compared to the whole picture.

MS has Windows PC, Xbox, Andriod, Apple, and the cloud under their belts. They will be fine.

There's some semantics at play here. The trailer didn't show actual gameplay. Yes, it was made using the in-game engine, but that's different from saying it was literally how the game appears like as you play it.

It's akin to showing a Gears of War cinematic and saying it's "in-game."

What games show gameplay videos before cgi or in engine trailers? Pretty much none.
