There's some semantics at play here. The trailer didn't show actual gameplay. Yes, it was made using the in-game engine, but that's different from saying it was literally how the game appears like as you play it.

It's akin to showing a Gears of War cinematic and saying it's "in-game."
It's true however it shows that the assets, details and lighting exist. Doesn't mean it'll get optimized to run looking like that at 60fps...but it's nice to know those assets are there. Especially knowing that hardware will evolve and these games will upgrade forward.

I never liked them 🤷‍♂️

I am looking forward to this game though.
I read it's going to be lengthy as well and that's right down my alley.
I'm genuinely curious. If to date you haven't liked a single Bethesda game, what is it about Starfield that you are looking forward to?

Who said I didn't like a single game from them?

I am saying I can't count on one hand the games I like from them.

You won't find praises towards them over the years from me in these forums,if anything I have been very critical of them calling them Bethbusta.

Starfield seems ambitious and is for some reason giving me Skyrim vibes.

I like the look/atmosphere as well.

My son who is a Zenimax studios fan is looking forward to playing it on his new XSX.

And this is Fallout/Elder Scrolls in space so you likely wouldn't have liked this
I’ve only played oblivion, loved it. Tried fallout, couldn’t get into it…some side stories piped up on my recommendation list on YT, and some of them are really intriguing like something out of some old sci-fi tv show. The one with the man who becomes a tree is sad.

I'm with you on this. In the last 2 generations i've only liked Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas(Obsidian actually made this) and that is it.

I enjoyed Skyrim, Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Fallout 4 was ok (DLC sucked), but it was taking the game to a different direction which lead to the failure that is Fallout 76.

I think the last Bethesda game I played was Wolfenstein: The New Order 🤣

If this turns out good, I might get it on the PC.

Wtf does wouldn't have mean?
You don't have a clue.

Bethesda games are my thing. I love pretty much all of their stuff, except for Fallout 76, which is hot garbage.
They need to drop that game asap. No matter how much resources they pour into that game, it still isn't going to be a proper Fallout singleplayer experience. Thank God for the occasional Fallout 76 free weekends on Steam.

Right, some things need to just focus on single player or multiplayer only. Very few games pull off a truly great experience for both.

What games show gameplay videos before cgi or in engine trailers? Pretty much none.
Forza Horizon 5. But that's not my point anyway. I am sure the game will look great, but to suggest this is what the gameplay will actually look like is silly.

Look at the way the camera moves and how the depth of field shifts. It's very cinematic and will no way be like this in gameplay. Sure, it'll still look great, but not cinematic like this.

There are exceptions, but it seems rare.

I mean 76 is ALOT better now then at launch. I play it on PC where the community is still large but yeah.. by and large it isn't as enjoyable as the standalone single player entries.

It’s hard for me to get past my initial experience, which was awful. I might get into it later, but my backlog is mighty.

It's not even Bethesda that made 76. I haven't got on it because I am still into ESO now they have a 60 fps mode running!
