Valves Steam Deck

I just checked the Steam Deck Verified Games page and of my 205 games only 20 games in my library are deck verified, 12 are designated functional but might require extra effort to interact with or configure, 10 are unsupported and the rest are untested.

Looks like I'm going to wait until more of my library is supported.

Still an emulation monster though.

The poor screen is disappointing, though I doubt I'll be playing in bright light very often.

It's very a thorough breakdown and not without its positives but I'm glad I stayed away from it for now. Once Valve iterate over this a few times I'll probably get one. Especially if they ever manage to get gamepass PC to work on it.

Battery life is also an issue, though the ability to dock to your TV is nice.

I would only play it docked. Which means I should just get a PC instead. But I hope some of you guys beta test it so I can see how it is.

Q3 2022 for me as well, probably for the best, as my job recently reduced my hours until further notice. I did play the Desk Job game they released for free and really enjoyed that. Looking forward to giving that a whirl. Definitely gonna just do the base features for now, but man, Steam's just making this product more and more accessible.
