Official Thread Street Fighter 5

Here's hoping, this teaches them not to make formerly multi-platform titles exclusive.

So instead of selling 41,990 copies in Japan they would have sold 41,994 copies? That isn't the lesson. The lesson is remember casuals exist and don't ship the game before its ready.

Japan + Europe + North America > Japan

Japan + Europe + North America > Japan

But the point stands. The game would just sell poorly on X1 or Wii U as well. I could see this being the biggest thing to take from the poor sales if they made it exclusive to the Ouya but other than that it being exclusive isn't the problem.

I agree it wouldn't sell as well on the Xbox and Wii U. Though I do believe 3rd party exclusives are a problem in general.

Well they got $50 from me. Haven't played it much so far. Runs like a dream on pc though. Have a 390 and it looks a treat. Some of the backgrounds aren't as spesh as the others though.

Plainview not sure what dots you're talking about?

I haven't played a Street Fighter since SFII on 360, and that was barely at all... Still learning basic combos etc. The tools to learn are pretty great.

I picked up MK for PC too. VaLLiancE you are right about how beautiful that game is!

I still need to get used to the fighting system though. I was obsessed with DOA for years, and that was very fluid/made cool things look easy. This game needs skill.

P.s. I hate how all the women look.

R.I.P. Cammy. Kylie Minogue never did you justice.

Maybe so but I think the poor sales and it not being multiconsole are two different issues.

Black dots to simulate comic shading. I can't be the only one that's seeing this? I'll have to take a screen cap.

Surely you haven't seen Laura's underboob with her story costume then?

The hate is funny to me. Considering plenty of games have launched this gen either incomplete or with broken features. I'm not giving Capcom a pass but let's be real. Street Fighter V will be amazing when it's all said and done. Honestly, if you only gave my Ryu and Ken and one map to play offline i'd be happy. It's f***ing Street Fighter man. The pinnacle of fighting franchises.

This is from Val. You can see the heavy pixilation in the shadow areas. When the characters are fighting the blocks/dots are even more apparent because the scaling of the effect is off and it looks worse.

So what does everyone have completed in survival mode? I've gone through easy with Ryu and Ken. Was watching Max do hard with Nash and the fact he was having issues and relying on getting a fight request to save him, means I'll probably never get those colors lol.

Gotcha, I see what you're talking about, it looks like shadow dithering. I'll post a picture to match this later from PC.

Well tried normal survival with Ken. Got to round 28 no problem then got wrecked by Zangief. Tried again and got to 30 but only had half health against Bison. Wish Normal was just 20 rounds, but the back end so it wasn't just sponges for the first handful of matches.

I tried to lower all of the settings to get it to look like that and it's impossible. I'm assuming it is either a specialized shadow setting specifically for PS4 or it's a glitch. The lowest shadow setting on PC does introduce an annoying dithering effect, but it's normal shadows in most spots and dithers only in small spots, even then it's not nearly as pencil thin looking as what is on PS4, it's thicker and actually looks like its supposed to be shadow. Here is a video demonstrating the low setting shadowing, you can see it flickering weirdly on Ryu's face:

Here you go with MAX settings:

I'm thinking that shadow thing is a graphical glitch on PS4.

I don't think its a glitch. Looks like low sample shadow maps to me.

I was going to wait until June but I couldn't help myself. So far the game is very enjoyable, it has hooked me far more then part 4 ever did. It just feels "right" to play it. Though I am enjoying the survival mode I hope that they reconsider the arcade mode. I use to play that for hours on end and it would make the game near perfect for me. They really nailed the execution in this game.

Wow.... Really? I expected more activity than this.

Perhaps I should have said estimated sales at 4K worldwide.

The sales will be coming. I think i'm going to pick up Street Fighter V this week. Not much else i feel like playing until next month. It's time to kick some ass with Ryu! It's been too long.

I've been playing on high, and mine didn't have that effect.

Just read this to see what was going on, and they touch on the issues with the shadows. Its pretty much only during close ups.

What's more worrying is that playing online effects your frame rate?

Picked it up last night and i'm loving it. If you don't like Street Fighter V you're not a fighting game fan. There's just no other way to put it.

I lost my first few ranked matches but i'm getting the hang of it now. The hate mail is already coming in. Fighters are serious business.

Street Fighter 5 for around 10 bucks on Amazon right now!!!!

This is probably a pricing error so hurry!!!!!

Amazon product

Edit: AAAAAaaaaand it's gone.
