I beat someone with a 20 win streak the other night and he pulled the plug. So now when people use fightsticks and lag switches i might pull the plug on them. I don't even care.. I just want my golden league trophy. Bunch of clowns online.

Remember a time when the sales thread was nothing but Street Fighter V sales talk without any Street Fighter V sales data but lots of bickering and fanboy digs and bitterness over exclusivity and hate and all that jazz and it was bloody awful?

Let's bring that back, but with sales figures this time!

Street Fighter V has sold 1.4 million on PS4 and PC (including digital).

Seems all the street fighter players were on Xbox. Street Fighter 4 sold 3.4 million. which doesn't include the 2 million for Super Street Fighter 4.

Lolz.

SF 4 and Super on 360 was the tournament standard last gen. Lowest input lag as well, although fighters tended to sell better on PS3 because of Japan and some franchises historically associated with PlayStation (like Tekken).

Uncharted 4 coming out tomorrow about to change all that. Welcome to the greatness that is Naughty God.

About to play that bad boy all day tomorrow.
Oh yeah! Another Uncharted....just proves my point.

These numbers show otherwise. Capcom should have gone Xbox.

I agree they should have put it on Xbox, but it would probably still have seen an overall decline from the SF4 numbers judging by the quality of the initial release and the SF saturation of the past 6 or 7 years.

What point is that?

The 360 was the main machine for sf4/100 versions at Evo etc is probably why.

SFV supposedly is going to have 7-10 years of content/support. Its success can't really be judged until the support stops.

Judging what by the quality of initial release? The GAMEPLAY is amazing far better than the previous game.
Oh you must be taking about the bad sales or casuals complaining about lack of single player modes.

Imagine the extra sales if they actually appealed to casuals with a content rich package at launch. I have seen no complaints about the core gameplay of SF V by anyone, it is fantastic and deserves the praise. The features, functionality, modes and presentation lacking at launch were valid complaints and it impacted the game, which is a shame.

The non casuals knew it wasn't releasing with certain modes and we still bit.
If Capcom sticks with its 7-10 year plan and that's a big IF the game could prove to be a financial success in the long run.

It would have sold less on Xbox. I mean come on that is just silly.
Don't know how many have bought the full games but did you see the KI numbers last month? Over 6m unique players for that month alone.

Well it has a free model and was a GWG game recently so not a fair comparison although you have to wonder if that is the model Capcom should consider adopting

Capcom derped hard as f*** with SF V.

Should've just kept supporting Ultra SF 4 and let SF V sit on simmer and release on all platforms when it's actually done. They gained absolutely nothing by going out early and exclusive.

They went exclusive because of their poor financial shape

sf4 blows in comparison 2 sfv and that's coming from a person who bought like 7 versions of it.

I totally agree with this. O.M.G!

These characters have been given justice out of this world. All of them just seems more balanced now. I feel like I'm playing Tekken with a twist.

LIFE TIME sales. Get it right ;) Oh, and your numbers are backwards, too.

Also....

Capcom expects Street Fighter V to sell 2 million copies between PS4 and PC.

They wasn't far off the mark, and the game still has updates coming. :)

To be honest Sony has a good year so far Paragon, Street Fighter V,, Alienation, Ratchet & Clank, Nioh Demo and soon Uncharted 4 Thats not including obsecure titles ike Digimon Cyber Slueth and Nitro Blasters +. It just depends on what type games you enjoy really.

Yeah man, just like tekken.

I do agree though, it is a much better mechanically than USFIV. But if they were so strapped for cash, they should've stuck with the game that was actually turning in big sales and used that money to complete SF V before shipping it.

For the record, I purposely posted the SF V sales in the sales comparison thread as I knew it would turn into a s*** show and it would have stunk up the SF V thread.

But all discussion was moved here overnight anyway.:(

Of course its not Tekken. But, the way certain attacks can now be set up and chained, its a lot more complex than Mortal Kombat systems, which is why I didn't compare the two, but rather more in line with the way Tekken's attacks are chained except on a more limited level if you will. While achieving this, they eliminated many overpowered, exploited attacks that seem to have plagued the series while making others easier to access but hard to master.

Its strange how they weren't able to figure this balance out before after all these years.

600,000 copies short of their goal? Flop confirmed. So the sales have flopped, the review scores flopped, lacks content and online was hosed. Ouch.
Goals are long term with this game :) Get back 2 me when its been out 7+ years.
The best PLAYING fighter and the only fighter with dedicated servers(azure who?) isn't available on Xbox. Ouch.
