I will be downloading this today. Strider 2 is one of the best PS1 games, and even though the pacing in this title seems quite a bit different, and judging from reviews, not nearly as difficult, I'm still looking forward to it.

Anyone else plan on downloading it?

Actually scored higher than I thought it would on average. Maybe I'll check it out. Wish there was a demo just so I could see if I like the gameplay.

Definitely downloading tomorrow. I love Strider, it was my favorite Genesis game back in the day. :). I had heard that some platforms get the first two free as a bonus. Does anyone know if there is truth to this?

There's a demo up now for PS3 and Ps4.

Anyone know how big the PS4 download is? They list it at 3.8gb for the PS3 version, but nothing listed for the PS4.

I love how Xbox One is reviving old classics. This is what direction gaming should take. Old school gaming >>>>>>>>>> New school.

Agreed on bringing back old classics. What I don't like is the trend lately of revisiting "classics" that are only a year old or so aka remakes/definitive editions. The old school classics are fine because it's been so long they feel new. And honestly, I haven't played a lot of them anyway.

Why buy a new system then?

Anyway, played for a bit last night. Started on Hard, as there is no new game plus. It's Hard. It doesn't feel Strider 2 hard, but then again, been awhile since S2, so perhaps my memory is a bit fuzzy. (Really, no perhaps--it is.)

Gameplay is tight, graphics are sharp. Unfortunately, Strider's iconic sword effect isn't present, which is a total loss. The sound effects in general are underwhelming, along with the music, except when it references that classic Strider tune.

I only played for about 30 minutes, so not much to report on just yet, but overall, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Xbox One finally wins a face-off...

Mind blown.

Until they patch it off course. Lol

I tend not to watch those, the games always look the same to me. The biggest difference that I generally see is in contrast. They never seem to have the tvs calibrated.
Having said that I just beat it today, great game! Some of the bosses kicked my ass!

The game is pretty solid. It has a Metroid exploration feel to it. The enemy shields really break the fluidity of the action. The bosses are fun though. I give it a 3.4/5. As blue said, the sounds are underwhelming.

Lordy this game is difficult. Usually I'll ramp a game up to the most difficult setting it will allow but this first boss has me wondering if I shouldn't start over and put it on medium. I'm sure I could beat him and I'll give it another shot when I'm not so beat but man it's tough.

Fun tough tho.

Really? First boss is basically jump, slash, jump, slash, jump.

The last boss is pretty underwhelming compared to the first.

I was pretty tired and groggy this morning when I tried it and on the hardest difficulty one misstep can get you killed. Thanks for the tip tho.

how much is it?
I got it for $12 on PC through greenmangaming

So an AF bug? Can probably be fixed with a patch.

Yeah, but until then...

Same. I tried the hard level off the bat and this game put me in my place really fast.
