It's up to what each person likes of course, I wouldn't buy a Nintendo console just for the exclusives because their games don't even hit 1080p and frankly they started seeming like the same basic experience over and over to me many years ago.
So we are going by resolutions?
Quality Sony Pro exclusives don't hit 4K.
Switch actually does have some 1080p/60fps exclusives more than the regular PS4 and the regular has many sub 1080p games.

Also Switch has better playing exclusives and probably higher rated/selling as well.

That was just a part of it, in 2018 a new console should be able to at least hit 1080p both the Pro and One X do that with all games and the standard PS4 that came out in 2013 does for the vast majority of it's games. The switch game out in 2017 and doesn't seem to be able to do it on a regular basis, Zelda doesn't do it and I'm sorry but their games aren't anywhere near as technically challenging as PS4 exclusives when it comes to graphics, they are all fairly simple and rely totally on art style to impress. If you play it in portable mode that's totally fine, I will only play games on a TV so that doesn't work out well for me. Direct comparison doesn't make much sense though as the switch is more of a hybrid machine while both Sony and MS machines are made solely for playing on a television.

Also Sony's biggest exclusives are all doing over 6 million in sales, I doubt the same can be said on switch for anything other than Zelda, Mario and Smash.

It is a portable and has more 1080p 60 fps exclusives than the PS4.
Its not even 2 years old and those above mentioned exclusives(not spinning them away) are more successful and critically acclaimed then the PS4's.
The amount of PS4's in peoples homes vs the Switch really makes the point even clearer.
Sony is lucky Nintendo doesn't go after them as they would be in trouble.

Sony has plenty of exclusives that average 8+ Nintendo pretty much just puts out Mario in different scenarios and a new Zelda every 3 years, everything else is pretty average.

As far as 1080p 60 games are you just throwing indie games in there to up the count? Zelda which is arguably their most visually taxing exclusive tops out at 900p and often runs well below that and never goes higher than 30fps, Mario Odyssey is 60fps but never higher than 900p and goes down to 720p. It also has NPC's that animate at half the framerate or less so compromises being made there that are very noticeable just to get the game to stay at 60fps.

Nope no indies exclusives.
Switch has more 60fps exclusives than the PS4.

Plus Zelda BOTW is better than any PS4 exclusive :)

When you don't push visuals very hard you can focus on 60fps more, at least you dropped the 1080p claim :p BTW I've heard from a lot of people that BOTW is highly overrated and if it didn't have the Zelda name attached to it that it would have scored much lower, of course how good a game is will always up to the individual so I could never tell you that you are wrong for your opinion on a game.

I am going by reviews/sales for Zelda.

Switch has more exclusives with the 1080p/60fps combination than the PS4.
I think more 60fps games as well.
Zelda being a Wii U port is gorgeous as is Mario O.

If PS4 was pushing the low level of graphical fidelity that switch games do you'd see all games at 1080p/60 and beyond. My original post about resolution was that I want a console that can push at least 1080p or more on my 4K tv, especially if that console just released last year. You brought up 60fps which has nothing to do with resolution as a way to try to change the discussion a bit but again Sony's games push the hardware a lot more when it comes to graphics than anything Nintendo currently makes.

The types of games Nintendo makes are always pretty basic graphically, their most ambitious game is Zelda and it's not even a steady 900p (often lower and never goes higher) and often drops below 30fps. It's a weak console or a strong portable depending on how you choose to look at it.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it does have a 97 on Metacritic, which makes it one of the highest scoring games of all time. Looked gorgeous to me, and I have no idea what it’s running at.

I’m sure some people didn’t like (and quite a few of those just to be contrarian), but I’m not one of them. :)

Zelda is visually up there(especially when we consider the scope of it) with anything on PS4 and its a port!

Edit:Zelda is 900p not sure what you are talking about jinca.

Zelda is variable resolution that maxes out at 900p

Most of the people I know who don't like it said the world was empty and that if it were a non Nintendo game it would have gotten a lot more hate. I don't have it so I can't state my own opinion on it that's just what I've heard. Clearly it's very popular though as is every Zelda game that is released.

Its 900p in docked mode and a variable 720p in portable mode.

However, further investigation confirms that the same scaling tech is utilised when Zelda is docked as well, with a native pixel-count of 1440x810 at stress points, dropping down from its usual 1600x900. Tellingly, this is also a 90 per cent scaling on both X and Y axes, just like the handheld scaling implementation.

so to confirm, that's 648p/720p on Wii U and Switch mobile, and 810p/900p on the docked Switch.

So the patch fixed things.
Anyway if it dropped or not...
You said it dropped often but DF says otherwise

Still looks amazing as good as most ps4 exclusives.

Not bad for a Wii U port.

I read another thing that said it dropped often, regardless of how often it still does drop so it is not a constant 900p and the patch didn't fix that it just helped with performance a bit which is still 30fps max.

Secondly "not bad for a wii U port? Shouldn't it do a lot better than the Wii U version since it's a newer console? 720p to a max of 900p isn't much of a jump especially on a console that came out in 2017. Zelda has a cool art style but technically it doesn't match up at all with PS4 games that actually push hardware, I don't know why you keep trying to make it sound as if the switch competes with the other consoles, it doesn't and it wasn't meant to.

Not sure what's happening here... the switch is the best console nintendo have had since SNES imo. I'm definitely no nintendo fanboy (I think my post history confirm this), but the switch is a terrific product with amazing exclusives and definitely fits this gen considering the portability. Zelda is great (but I agree with it prob having a lower score if not zelda or nintendo), odyssey is great, Mario kart is great and skyrim and diablo I've played much more on my switch than on other platforms because of the option to play on the go.
Not entirely sure why some potate on this.

I could see Crackdown as AAA. (I define AAA in terms of budget.) Sea of Thieves maybe, too. Big first-party investment.

I don't know what the actual budget is on CD3, it's taken a long time but they were using a couple of smaller lesser known studios to work on it. I would not consider SoT a AAA game, it launched pretty barebones and it's got a very cheap art style. I don't think MS put out any AAA games this year other than FH3.

That's like saying TLOU remastered was not bad for a PS3 port even though it had far more upgrades than Zelda did from the Wii U to the switch including running at a higher res and framerate.

That was around launch what you posted. It matters cause various patches have been released since then and I never heard of a resolution drop until you mentioned it so being that long ago it was likely fixed.

I actually listened to the video and it never said the resolution dropped often. :)

It actually is much better than the Wii U with over 50% more pixels being pushed but it would be even better if it was built with the Switch in mind.
TLOU has all kind of performance issues on the PS4.
I stand by what I said.... Zelda looks as good as most PS4 games and rates, sells and plays better than PS4 exclusives.

I said Sony consoles were worth buying for exclusives alone and then val said Nintendo is better in that regard, I simply said that to me I can't see buying a console in 2018 that has trouble even hitting 1080p because I play on a 4K tv and it kind then he started bringing up 60fps etc and it's taken on a life of it's own since then lol. The Switch isn't bad it's just weak, that doesn't mean people can't have fun on it.

TLOU2 had a few drops because they doubled the framerate. The video that was posted says the patch didn't do anything to address the res drops on Zelda just helped with performance.

It didn't say it didn't either no do they at all mention variable resolution being a issue docked but they do for portable mode.

Switch hardware is super limited which is why they miss a tone of 3rd party support. Zelda is way behind Sony in terms of visuals and overall detail. The difference is pretty much night and day.

Factually you can't run Sony games on a Switch let alone compete with graphical master pieces like HZD. The fact Zelda is a port makes your opinion even more stupid.

Graphics have been decided by what you see on the screen not by what's under the hood.
Zelda BOTW looks as good as most good looking PS4 exclusives.
