Anything to know? Went from the iPhone 5s to the Galaxy S6. Second consecutive iPhone that couldn't last me more than two years.

Android is a great system but I hate the Samsung phones with a passion. Tizen is the worst skin for android out there. Plus all that crappy bloat ware they install that you can't remove unless you root your phone.

I had a regular iPhone 5 and went to the S6 a couple months ago. Liking it a lot more right now although battery drain from the cellular signal is annoying.

I'm in the market for a new phone in the next while (still rockin' a GSII)

If you didn't have to use iTunes to add music to your phone (is this the case?) I'd go iPhone, but I really don't like iTunes. There are some apps on iOS though that I'd like to use.

I like with android I can just open the folders on my phone with my PC and drag and drop from one to the other.

I had an Android since the HTC EVO, then I got an S2, S3 and a LG G3. So many issues. GPS issues, bloatware, just ehhh.

Switch to an iPhone 6 Plus a few months ago and have been very happy with it. The LG G3 was the best Droid phone IMO, not as much bloatware if you couldn't get the Nexus.

Yeah, bloatware on android is a big issue for me. Samsung are the worst offender as well.

Heh, well I finally upgraded my Galaxy S II.

I was planning on waiting for the Note 5 to see if they went with non-removable back cover like they did with the S6 and then intended to get the Note 4 when it was confirmed no battery swapping or microsd card slot.

Ended up getting an LG G4 and holy crap, it's amazing! I didn't realize how big a step phones have taken! The screen is just incredible, ditto on the camera, wow! and the battery lasts forever. Everything is just so clean and instant compared to my GS2. Also, when I hold my GS2 now it feels absolutely tiny.

The G4 is big, but it's really comfortable. Just simply fits the hand. Can easily do one handed tasks. The textured leather curved back is really nice. Only downside of this phone is zero actual buttons on the sides. the power/lock and volume buttons are on the back under the camera lens. already quite used to it and it's fine. I do miss the home button though.
Anyway, I didn't realize this phone just came out because it was only $99 on contract, which is really cheap for a new top end phone! My work gives 25% discount on the monthly bill if you go with Bell so I changed carriers, pretty good deal.

edit: oh right, I meant to say the LG has very little bloatware, big change from Samsung.

Yeah. I like LG android. Nobody does bloat ware like Samsung. Seriously. I think they are singled handedly holding back android OS with their self app non sense.

I had a Nexus tablet, and in the US I've seen that there are Nexus phones too...

Can you get a Samsung phone with a clean android install? Or is it technical to install that?

My last two phones have been Windows phones...

Just got the Note 5. Great phone. Not as much bloatware as my old S4 had. The camera is super fast and even has a manual mode. I really like the "virtual shot" mode and the selective focus as well.

The stylus is great and I can even get decent results in Autodesk Sketchbook. It's very responsive and there is almost zero lag. I use the note function all the time.

It's a big phone, but It's the same size as my wife's S6+.

All that said, getting new phones is almost pointless. It's so incremental. I had my S4 since it came out. They all do the same thing to varying levels of good. I went with the Note because it did actually have a different functionality (in the stylus).

I don't like iPhones. However, I was debating what to get my wife for Christmas. Right now, I started her off on a cheap phone (she's never owned a cell/smart phone).

I figure the iPhone may be be nice for her, because she really won't do much. However, I don't want to support it. I'm way more familiar with Android.

We got my wife an iPhone a few years ago- she took it back after a week and got an S4, lol. iTunes just pissed her off too much.
We don't have many Apple devices at my home, so integration is just easier with Android.

Friends dont let friends Touchwiz

Also, new android users install Google Opinion Rewards. I have got about $50 or so this past year in random surveys from Google. They only take 5-10 seconds to answer

Question. Still got my S4 from years ago I really have no desire switching right now because the newer stuff is just minimalistic in its upgrades that I probably won't need and I don't see that changing anytime soon BUT I'm becoming a MS fanboy lately with their new laptop on the way and just xbox etc so I want to switch eventually to Lumia. Any thoughts ? Also i'm loving the new direction of MS and love what i'm seeing from them lately. Would it be a good choice ?

Some of the newer phones are 64bit with 4gbs of ram using either Lolipop soon Marshmellow and COMPLETELY SMOKE the GS4. NOW would the perfect time for you to upgrade.
