Official Thread Tales Of Arise

I can't wait. My favorite Tales game is Xillia. I just loved the interactions between Jude and Milla. Zestiria was a little to upbeat/campy, while Berseria was darker than what I expected from a Tales game.

I have Xillia but never started it...still going through Graces F during the summer at the trailer park...it's where my PS3 is and I dont play off season.Might give Xillia a shot soon though.

But yeah Arise looks pretty good.

I've only played Tales of Vesperia and Xillia, liked them both so this one looks right up my alley.

That sounds good that the complete game will be released at launch instead being added on as DLC.

Tales of Arise Producer Yusuke Tomizawa confirmed that the title will not feature any post-release DLC story content. This information was shared through a Tales of Arise broadcast held on July 29, 2021. Additionally, Tomizawa mentioned that Tales of Arise will release as a complete experience and will not inspire a sequel or prequel. The game will also not be linked to any Tales of titles.

However, there will be Tales of Arise content in the mobile Tales of titles. This will strictly be crossover content and will not be related to the core story of Tales of Arise. Specifics regarding potential crossovers were not mentioned or elaborated on during the broadcast. The question regarding any future story related DLC content for Tales of Arise appeared during the tail end of the presentation. Tomizawa was frank in answering, stating that Tales of Arise will remain a stand-alone title with no sequel.

Additionally, the broadcast revealed how skits will function in the game. Skits will be more interactive and feature unique cutaways during segments. Leisure activities were also shown, which includes cooking and camping. Players will also be able to fish in the game to obtain high grade fish to create better dishes. An archived version of the broadcast is available to watch through the official Tales of YouTube channel. However, it is currently only available in Japanese and does not feature English subtitles.

Tales of Arise will release for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC on September 9, 2021 in Japan and on September 10, 2021 worldwide.

Already have my physical copy preordered for the PS5 for pickup at launch from EBGames.

This should probably be in the official Tales of Arise thread but nice to know. I wonder if they will add incentives for playing the demo like Scarlet Nexus.

Ah ok,I will check the OT thanks...and yes they should give a few bonus if you complete the demo...

Demo out on PSN NZ

Impression (not mine):

- Install size is - 3.63 GB
- two modes (Graphics & Performance)
- graphics mode is 4K 30FPS
- Performance is 60FPS and no info on resolution. By the looks of it, it looks like 1440p. I'm no expert at testing this, but I'm sure DF or VG tech will confirm soon. PR hasn't responded on this either.
- Can play as all 6 characters in this demo
- around 1 hour first try, but with trying everyone you'll probably get around 2-3 hours with the demo.
- loading is around 1-3 seconds depending on area transitioning, camping, and combat.
- really fluid combat with button binding.
- No in game HDR, I just turned on the HDR for my PS5 as I'm using a HDR TV. Helps with making the already colorful world even more vibrant, but it may vary for you (HDR TVs always vary)

Just a yolo buy for me as I've never played one. But with Ghost of Tsushima coming out next week I may not get to it for a while.

Just beat the demo. Fun gameplay mechanics and decent graphics for a crossgen game, can't wait for release. Going to go the 60fps option. Just can't beat that fluidity/responsiveness and I can barely notice the resolution increase in 30fps mode during gameplay.

Played the demo on XSX and PS5. The game is quite a looker. Probably the best looking Tales game to date. Still plan to pick this up on PC however. Played the last 2 Tales games on PC and don't plan to stop. Plus I don't want to have to pick between a performance and graphical setting if I can help it.

That Kraken+Oodle doing work

Those with a pre-order of Tales of Arise from the PlayStation Store are now able to pre-load the JRPG ahead of release in certain regions, leading to the discovery that the PS5 version is dwarfed by what's on PS4 — a whole 20GB difference in fact. PS5 game size compression means the current-gen version clocks in at just 37.201GB while the PS4 version is far larger at a weighty 57.247GB.

The smaller sizes of PS5 titles is something that has been highlighted a few times since the console launched, with current-gen versions of games taking up much less space on the system's SSD. It was noted that both Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered were 25 per cent smaller on PS5 when compared to their PS4 versions. Or in the case of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, significantly smaller than the PS4 edition coupled with all of its DLC; the PS5 version was still overshadowed by it despite all the PS5-specific bells and whistles.

Bandai Namco's JRPG is just the latest in line to dramatically shrink the size of its PS5 version, which those tied to data caps will surely appreciate. Tales of Arise hits PS5 and PS4 on 10th September 2021, so expect our verdict to hit the site in the coming days.

Something is wonky with the PS4 file size. The Series S/X and One is clocking in at 40GB and the PC is coming in at 35 GB.
