Guessing I'm closing in on the end of the game. Just finished

I have to say that the last 1/3 of the game has really gone down hill for me. Two big things. One is the amount of dialog, especially since a lot of it seems to be repeated. I understand it's an RPG and you're going to get dialog, but the way it is presented in the game is straight up annoying. For example, you enter an area and cutscene. Then after that there are up to 3 skits you can listen to, which if you want to follow the story and enjoy it are necessary. Then sometimes after that you walk like 10 feet and hit another cutscene. It feels like the end of the game gets worse with this. There is also a lot of unnecessary comments by your companions that anyone should be able to infer by what is going on in the first place. A lot of times it's repeat comments. I've lost track of how many times companions have said they have each others backs and they're in it together. Holy s*** stfu.

Next is the combat. I enjoyed it at the beginning, but at the end, even though I have fought at least every enemy encountered, I'm starting to be 3-4 levels behind. I'm glad I put it on story difficulty during the first lord fight because these basic enemy fights are lasting way too long. Maybe I'm not playing correctly, but even while not difficulty, these fights are just tedious at this point. Plus there is so much s*** going on onscreen that it's hard to tell when an enemy is attacking. Add to that the fact that Alphen's best attacks require a charge that can easily be staggered from.

I'm enjoying the game for what it is as my first Tales game, but I don't see myself playing another one to be honest.

I really enjoyed it but do agree there is too much of an exposition dump in the last parts of the game. And they do repeat themselves alot.

If you compete Dohalims advanced arena battle, you will get an artifact with 100 damage so it will make fights go faster but its 100 damage both ways so you have to be careful. With the lower difficulty you might blaze through the dungeon with it.

Finished Tales of Arise. I swear if I didn't know any better it was a few steps away from being a Star Ocean game.

Overall, I enjoyed it very much. Still not my favorite Tales game but I liked the production values, music and combat. Story went a little long in the tooth and fell into some classic anime troupes by the end but there was enough there to keep me intrigued.

Finished it last night as well at about 50-55 hours? I've done about 35 side quests as well. I may put this game on the back burner and do a bit more of the quests and stuff it has to offer. Overall the story was fine, combat as well for the most part. But honestly as stated the last 1/3 of the game just became a drag. Maybe part of it was just at 50 hours I was starting to get bored with the game, but I think most of it as a couple of you have agreed it just gets too damn long winded.

And my guess if you look at your skits completed it will be similar to mine when i finished like 200/300. Lol there are so many of them.

I think I'm actually close to 250 now, although I feel like after the game I've already heard 25 of them in a short time. I'm not sure what triggers them, but going back to past areas will trigger 3-4 at a time. Same with camping.

Find the timing odd that just as Grandblue Fantasy gets a release date, we get dlc expansion for a 2 year old game.

2.7 million sold worldwide since launch

As a result, there were a large number of new players and those who played the game for the first time in a long time, and the game sold more than 2.7 million copies worldwide, which is unprecedented for a single Tales title.

I'm full pass on this. Been too long and I'm too deep in the backlog right now.
