TENET - 26.8.2020

Yo Tenet's plot straight up sucked. Here's some of the reasons why:

It's way too convoluted, the pacing is off, the actors spoke in the same pitch like a god damn Speed Racer cartoon, and literally the movie was impossible to follow. Like wtf happened? Tell me more about this future s***, tell me more about everything. Don't make me feel like an idiot because you couldn't write an engaging story or at least provide some god damn details. WHY DIDN'T THE MOVIE END IN THE OPERA, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL AS s***. But no, you had to do some crazy invasion angle at the end of the movie where a dude couldn't grab onto a cable that would have ended the world because you fell into the "bad guy can't reach wire to kill everyone" trope. Why the hell did he care so much about this woman when he clearly was supposed to be a "nobody stops the mission" kinda guy. Most importantly, SHOW OFF THIS FUTURE/PAST PROTAGANIST s*** AND EXPLAIN MORE OF HOW/WHY HE BECAME THE LEADER OF WHATEVER MOVEMENT THEY'RE DOING. He just ends up being, "The Man" at the end of the movie. That's like The Matrix skipping Neo dying and just becoming God at the end of the first movie. It just didn't make any sense lol.

Oh and the biggest issue of all. YOU CAN'T HEAR ANY GOD DAMN DIALOGUE. It's just BOAT NOISE, PLANE NOISE, GUN NOISE, BIRD NOISE I DON'T KNOW IT WAS JUST NOISE. All while you're trying to understand the characters and their motivations. Nolan basically gives you the finger on this, and it's bulls***. Like what a disaster. Whoever did sound editing for this movie should never do another blockbuster like this ever again.

Stupid stupid stupid.

What I liked about it:

Set pieces were cool. My favorite of which being the hallway fight (both present and future). Invasion was cool at the end of the movie with the forwards and backwards part (though who were these people? Since when did this mfer have an army and why wasn't this area shown the entire f***ing movie?!?!?!?) Robert Pattinson was awesome, and I liked how there was like three of him at one point at the end of the final battle. John David Washington was good in his role, but the writing was terrible and that's not on him. Aaron Taylor Johnson was great, and had no idea he was in the movie until I was like, oh s*** that's Kick Ass!

I give this movie a big fat 5/10 and that's mostly for effects.

The inverted stuff made no sense to me. You have 2 main guys who know about it, but they keep playing their part. The inverted side is stuck on a predetermined to path witg a predetermined destination and set of actions. So, why didn't the protaganist just stop the car, or stop fighting?

Why is it the protaganist drove forward while inverted but the antagonists drove backwards. Why did the protagonist need his own air supply but the antagonist didn't?

What was the point of the inverted invasion at the end? They didn't seem to do anything.

It just doesn't make sense.

I can't answer a lot of these lol but the driving backwards thing I can. Im pretty sure they drove normally but it appears backwards because of the way inverting works. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.

Also the antagonist definitely wore his mask, it's what he was doing in the corner when shooting the girl in that one scene. I think.

Honestly I'm still Mad so I don't remember everything lol

Then the protaganist should drive backwards aswell. He fought backwards, but never drove backwards. and if it only appears like they drive backwards then why is why speech still understandable and not backwards?

The antagonist isn't wearing a mask in the first vehicle chase sequence, neither is the woman he threatens to shoot.

It's a mess. They clearly didn't think through the inverted concept. It makes no sense.
