Okay, my hope is the studio is blowing smoke and bulls***ting us and this can in fact be another sequel. While kind of an odd movie, partly because marketing imbeciles spoiled it, Terminator GENISYS left a big unanswered question. Who sent Pops back to the 70s?
I think Sarah Connor being squeezed out in Terminator 3 due to Leukemia was odd and kind of hamfisted script writing. I think fans would be on board if this was revealed to be a huge lie saying she was cremated and there was no body. Hell, what if she's gone because she Time Traveled forward?
Aside from all that, it's interesting to see Linda Hamilton as well as Jamie Lee Curtis coming to kickass. This is much more like how I wanted to see General Leia in Star Wars. Not that I think Carrie Fisher was up to bodybuilding, but in Sci-Fi there can be work arounds for that. She could use The Force or instead use personal enforcer Droids or hire IG-88 to kill First Order goons.
It's also a Skywalker family tradition to get robot limbs.
Or as someone at war her whole life, show it with a battle scar and bionic eye. Let her use a Battlesuit like Ida Lennox from Evolve personally smashing and shooting troopers.
Okay Star Wars tangent rant. It's interesting to see where Halloween and Terminator are going in contrast to Star Wars where I think they really fumbled a character. A General shouldn't be all sad and mopey, she should want revenge against the First Order. I wanted to see her at least personally kill General Hux.
