Cuphead, the memorable 2017 bullet-hell shooter that's meticulously styled after a 1930's cartoon, will soon be playable on an unlikely new platform: Tesla's fleet of electric cars and their built-in dashboard screens.

According to Maja Moldenhauer from Studio MDHR, the developer of Cuphead, the Tesla version is looking good and already running "nice and clean." Studio MDHR and Tesla are targeting a release date of later this summer, and the in-car version will only include the Inkwell Isle One section of the game, due to the storage limitations of Tesla vehicles

We all know what we really want autopilot for...

ā€Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game inspired by cartoons of the 1930s and heavily focused on boss battles. For the Tesla Edition of Cuphead, enjoy the gameā€™s full first Isle as you play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or in local co-op). Traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to The Devil!ā€œ

The automaker has recently added Xbox controller support for its Tesla Arcade games and you are probably going to want to use one for this game. You are going to want an Xbox controller with a USB cable for it. Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted in July that it would be coming in August, so mid-September means itā€™s right on time. He later tweeted that it was his favorite game.

At AMDā€™s Computex 2021 keynote, the chipmaker confirmed that the latest generation of Teslaā€™s infotainment system ā€“ arriving in both the new Tesla Model S and X ā€“ is powered by an AMD Ryzen processor and AMD RDNA 2 GPU.

Those internals suggest Muskā€™s in-car gaming rig is capable of providing up to 10 teraflops of computing power ā€“ which isnā€™t far off the figure boasted by Sonyā€™s PS5.

AMD CEO Lisa Su confirmed the new Tesla models ā€œwill have an AMD Ryzen APU powering the infotainment system [...] as well as a discrete RDNA 2-based GPU that kicks in when running AAA games,ā€ adding that the company ā€œlook forward to giving gamers a great platform for AAA gaming.ā€

Now, weā€™re not suggesting Teslaā€™s in-car gaming system will match the PS5 for performance, but both use largely the same technology under the hood, save for a smaller number of cores in the Tesla system (28 to the PS5ā€™s 36).

The AMD Navi 23 GPU in the former also boasts 1792 shader units (processors within the graphics card responsible for processing different aspects of an image) to the PS5ā€™s 2304 ā€“ so weā€™re talking small margins here. For comparison, the PS4 came equipped with 1152 equivalent units.

Iā€™d cosplay as one, would need to lose a few pounds lol primarily in the belly region, but Iā€™m taller than it so I wonā€™t be one-to-one šŸ˜

I see this as a plus to the world, not saying it cos Iā€™m an investor lol but I just think itā€™s about time this gets pushed into the mainstream/zeitgeist/world. We see Japan using them with the elderly/pleasure, in the states for heavy work/military/rescue/aid and for disabled people to enjoy the world. I wanna see it go further and setup integration with those whoā€™ve lost limbs, maybe one day replace bodyā€™s with them. Thereā€™s so many directions this could go.

badmonk if you got one, what would you name yours?

Its barely a concept.

Boston Dynamics has working robots with some AI and Elon brings out someone dancing in a costume and we're supposed to be impressed? Elon is just a clown show now.

The concept of robots helping people is good and has been explored in Japan for awhile now because of their aging population. But Elon sucks and probably this won't actually happen from Tesla, it feels like he's just trying to push Tesla's stock up.

We're long overdue for this step in tech and society.

I wish this was coming into place right now not over the next few years. Imagine the impact on this stupid Virus not requiring humans to show up to these awful jobs everyone hates anyway working closely together.

Also, at a certain point I think we have bad service jobs that exist to serve humans who work other bad service jobs and all the ridiculous commuter traffic to get people to customer service jobs and cubicles. I mean take the office workers who grab quick meals from fast food or travel stops and also the fast food workers that probably wind up eating fast food themselves. Or the Truck Drivers that burn fossil fuel to deliver fuel and s***ty snacks to Gas Stations and Truck Stops. How much fossil fuel is burned by refineries as they produce Gas and Diesel?

What if these robots start first flipping burgers, the burden on our resources and waste of human labor potential goes down like a domino effect, and we realize the actual demand for a lot of wasteful nonsense work goes down?

Yea and when you combine things like 3D printing then the need to go to the store to buy a hammer or the truck to deliver the hammer or the store that sells the hammer becomes needles and we save resources.

But

The world is still ruled by the rich and most of them want to control us so we'll get shafted with this progress or the progress will be held back so they can chain us to pointless jobs. The Tesla robot will be expensive and will mainly be bought by companies to reduce the need of workers.

Also here are acutal dancing robots.
