We are screwed if any of those tools get elected.

I have heard this same thing for every elected President ever. Somehow we persevere and for that reason I just don't give much time to politics.

So in other words, he spoke like a politician.

Looks like the polls confirm that most people think Trump came out the winner, which indicates that the public doesn't care so much about policy inasmuch as they care about electing a man with gusto.

That being said, I can't imagine Trump actually winning the nomination. It's all just a dog and pony show this early on in the game.

I can't imagine Trump winning the nomination either. I also couldn't imagine Arnold Schwarzenegger winning the election for governor of California and winning a 2nd term, but he succeeded, thanks to his celebrity status.

Trump could be good for politics. Hopefully it'll show all the schmucks in Washington that america wants things to change. He's definitely not going to win, but hopefully will shake things up.

In a general sense, his supporters think he is financially savvy and can reign in the wasteful spending. More important than that though, is they probably believe Trump more than anyone else will fire people.

The thing that bugs me about the whole "Americans want change" thing is we are given the opportunity to make change quite frequently but we almost always send the same people back to the house and senate, we almost always refuse to vote for anyone other than a republican or a democrat so that makes me wonder if we really want change or is it that we just like to complain?

Eh, I think at the end of the day normal people have very little say in who actually makes it.

Ever see the independents debate on FOX? The Libertarian Primary? The Green Party Primary? Me neither, blame the media.

The public is unaware these independents even exist. Or news media shows goofballs like Jimmy McMillan to make the idea of 3rd parties seem like weird eccentrics. It's why an independent like Bernie is running on the Democrat ticket. Also, if Trump was independent, he would not be in the televised debates right now. He might even have been excluded from the Presidential Debates like Ralph Nader was.

Also, independents have a huge uphill battle trying to get ballot access to all 50 states and each state has it's own ballot access rules. Another problem is people still believe a strong 3rd party candidate is a Spoiler since Nader in 2000.

I think Trump gained as much popularity as he did primarily because of his rant on Illegal immigration (which other politicians avoid like the plague) and shockingly right after he said that a SF woman was murdered (for no obvious reason I can find) by an Felony convicted illegal Alien who was deported five times prior with a Federal Agents handgun no less.

By the way the whole story of him finding an Federal agents handgun wrapped up in a t-shirt just laying around and going off three times by accident sounds sketchy as s***.

What if Trump was doing this to try to get Hillary elected? His plan: split the Republican vote and make them all feel like fools.

Is he favorite for ElPresidente at the moment? Most of the American politics we get here is either through satire news shows, or SNL.

More importantly, if he becomes president, does he promise to keep doing Celebrity Apprentice?!?!

He was fired from NBC. Hillary is the front runner.
