The Batman

Following are apparently contenders for the seat,

George Miller (Mad Max), Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Gavin O’Connor (Warrior, The Accountant), Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Arrival) and Matt Ross (Captain Fantastic).

Edit- looking like Reeves

George Miller please.

Give him MoS2.

As I said it's looking like Reeves is joining the DCU

Matt Reeves is now following Geoff Johns on Tweeter. A sign of him joining the DCEU.

Apparently he had never actually signed on the media just jumped the gun

I read WB put pressure on Affleck to not work on other films while doing Batman or something like that. So, to step back and let someone else direct probably works too.
Maybe they'll flashback to the story behind the Robin suit.
I'd like to see more detective work and more stealthy combat. Let gadgets and Iron Man.

Rumours have been going that Robins death has been filmed but that was supposedly played by Snyders son and Snyder denied it all.

It's also said Joker has a cameo in JL....

I have very big love for The Dark Knight trilogy and hope the new one can equal that. A lot to live up to for me.

I like Affleck as Batman. I really liked the noir'ish tone in some of his scenes, like when he was with the chick on the lake.

Fingers crossed.

I've never understood the draw to Batman. I was always a Xmen boy, but my Dad kept giving me his oldschool Batman comics (Which I still have), but I still don't see him as cool.

The Nolan movies were pretty good, but I still can't bring myself to see Affleck as Batman in the BvS.

I think I don't like him because his powers are pretty limited. Probably a reason why I hate Wolverine. (If you were going to be a mutant, you'd be Rogue and drain everyone. Duh)

Also, Batman doesn't have powers. He's a regular guy.

One thing I like about Batman is main enemies are not an evil version of him. Marvel sets this up a lot with Spider-Man / Venom, Hulk / Red Hulk / Abomination, Iron Man / Iron Monger / Whiplash, Ant-Man / Yellow jacket.

Also, Batman didn't have his role foisted upon him like most hero's.

That is possibly the best explanation I've heard for Batman in my entire life. Honestly.

I'm a yuuuge Jubilee fan, and I love Mystique, and Cyclops. But I've always veered more towards Beast and Bishop in the comics.

I really appreciate that response man.

Always liked the idea that the bad guys only exist because of him.

Also that he has Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl to stop him if he ever went bad.

So its due to suffering alcoholism and going to rehab that Affleck stepped down as director

Saw somewhere else the script is being written from scratch again.
It was first reported by ComicBook.com. Unless it's confirmed by WB, don't believe that you read. ComicBook.com a.k.a ClickBait.com is known to have an anti-DC agenda and they've lost all of credibility and respect with their bullsh*ts lately.

With the way DC has handled their films I would not be surprised if it's true. I also saw they will rush another film to take Batman's original planned release window. I'm no DC hater, but I can even see they have had a rocky start to their new film-verse. I was really looking forward to a Affleck directed Batman film maybe it will still happen down the line. Hopefully WW and JL are better received.

Affleck has started training so it looks like they will be ready to film in a couple months

Good bye, Adam West. Bat signal on Los Angeles City Hall last night to honor the first live-action Batman.
