If they are as indestructible as the original, I'll take one.

That's a pretty awesome way to kill a phone I gotta say.

I wish I could apply that to so many things that go wrong!

"I fell into a hot tub........"

And had to buy a new.............

Great story!

Not sure what you mean by help.

I was just saying, if you're gonna f*** up your phone, falling into a hot tub wouldn't feel that bad to me. That's a good story.

I have no idea where or what I'm gonna do about my next phone. And this is for everyone btw.

I have an LG Velvet and love it. It's still strong.

What is out there android wise that can be had on the chep on Ebay for example. I have no idea what's going on in the phone world.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and it somehow flipped all around and escaped my hands and landed flat as can be on my porch.

Screen is cracked. Gorilla glass can crack apparently.

Still works btw, but need to shop for a new phone. usb c, android, headphone jack are the only musts.

So here's where I'm at.

I buy phones outright. I must have a 3.5mm jack and usb-c.

Through research I'm looking at the Motorola Moto G 2024 edition. Very important to make sure I'm getting their latest version because it seems to me like they just keep naming all their phones Moto G.

My LG still works despite the cracked screen. So no rush and I should probably stop worrying about this.

But that's where I'm at and if anyone has any opinions there, I'd love to hear them.

I'm not going Apple and want to make that clear.

Thanks guys!

I never have used or seen a Windows phone when they were a thing.
I've never had a Windows phone either.

I mean that I use a windows desktop computer, as my home base for everything, and it works really well with android phones. I can drag and drop and go into the file system on both and they love each other for the most part.

I use a Mac at work and home. If Mac didn't exist, I would use a Linux distro. I assume Linux and Android play well together, as they are both the same OS sorta?

I did a ton of research,

Decided I should get a Motorola G Power (2024) and hope maybe there's a Black Friday sale on it so just live with my busted LG Velvet screen for a few weeks and bite the bullet.

But I love my LG Velvet. The Moto G is $400 Canadian loonies.

So then I'm like............I could just get another LG Velvet for under $200.

And then I had a bit to drink, talked to me dad about my favorite phones. And he has my hand me down LG V20, and I love that thing.......miss it.

So I bought an LG V60, from the heart, and I think I made the right choice. The specs on the Moto G Power (2024) were kind of bumming me out.

So yeah I have purchased a 4 year old flagship phone from China and well, hopefully it's legit (new in box sealed? we'll see)

Worst case scenario this phone is a stop gap. I like to get 4 years out of a smartphone and that has somehow held up. If I didn't drop the Velvet and crack the screen I would happily keep using it (and am still because it works but I can deal with a cracked screen like iPhone people)

My brothers had them, both had the flagship ones. Their cameras were great, shoot, I think they may still hold up today. Sonys phones have the same lenses and sensors that Apple uses, out at least made by them for Apple, but Sony’s are also very option rich. You can mess with the iso and aperture like a dslr, like the window phones

Shoot, I’m still rocking my iPhone 7, the tiny screen is getting to me lol I do want a 16 pro, but I think I can wait for the next one 😆

Well holy crap, my LG V60ThinQ 5G from ebay China (new in box sealed),

Has arrived.

It is legit. Sealed and somehow 91% battery life out of the box, which is kinda wild for a 5 year old phone.

It's Android 10, but is updating to 13, and this s*** is going to take all day, but it's cool right? Let's not be impatient here, I knocked it out of the park deciding to go with this.

Beautiful phone for the price, better than a new "mid-range" or budget phone by a country mile in every which way.

edit: this is what I purchased https://www.ebay.com/itm/186443033497?var=694491738318

LG V60 feels in 2024:
