The Cell Phone Thread

Still rocking a Nokia flip phone.

I get strange reactions when I take this thing out like people didn't know flip phones still exist. It has more capability than you might think. It has Bluetooth and I run a headset with it. It actually can run a crude web browser and includes YouTube. It can do email. I can get on Facebook.

Mostly went this route for durability. I have dropped it once on a hard warehouse floor. The charging acted weird but I reseated the battery and rebooted it and no issue after that.

I have a coworker who’s got one, an flip phone, and he carries his iPad with 5G for breaks at his desk or lunch….he told me he doesn’t want the company knowing what sites he visits. He’s even got those screen protectors where you can make out the screen when you reach a certain angle. This guy is in his 60s. Yo, he uses his iPod pros for both his phone and tablet lol

Well, I also have a Samsung Tablet. I have a practical use for it though aside from internet as I have a Tablet Dash mount and use it for GPS or Google Earth with the nice huge screen, but also streaming music and podcasts.

With my main internet covered with that, I like the small durability and easy portability of the flip phone for receiving texts from dispatch or calls.

I've got an ultra badass $40 Moto G Pure now. I love being forced to "upgrade" to a newer cheap phone that's worse than my 2018 phone that worked perfectly fine with Tracfone.

Anyone use T-Mobile? Currently have Verizon but thinking of switching. Mainly due to the fact that it comes with MLB.tv right now (also looks like MLS Season Pass) plus I think coverage is better, because where I work now Verizon doesn't have any signal. I am on a cheaper no longer supported Verizon plan as well so while that is nice to be a bit cheaper, with T-Mobile paying off my phone as well I'd come out ahead. Oh and it also comes with Apple TV+ which I pay for so that is $7 off the $85 plan as well. Seems like a no brainer at this point...

Hmmmm,

I might be contemplating getting a new phone.

Problem is my budget is like $300 to buy the phone outright, it has to be android, it has to have a headphone jack.

I will probably buy it off ebay, maybe it's a display model or something, don't care I'll take the risk..........

What are the current best android phones with a headphone jack? I mean replaceable battery would be nice too, but I don't think anyones doing that anymore and that's ok.

Massive LG fan, but I kind of have their last flagship phone and it's been fantastic (and why I'm asking here, it was really under rated, and literally days after they announced they were no longer gonna make phones, ebay was flooded with "like new" LG Velvet 5G's for next to nothing)

I like to get 3-4 years out of a phone. I gotta look it up but it's maybe getting about that time for an upgrade.

HEADPHONE JACK is a must.

Thanks anyone who follows this more than me. I'll do some googling but it's hard to know if you're reading/watching something that is either sponsored, or they don't want to piss off a company that sends them free stuff to review so they basically hype it up.
