Just made stirfry with Lamb, mushrooms, peppers, tried some Kimchi. Steamed broccoli and carrots while making rice in the cooker. Turned out so good and the Lamb is delicious.

A nice treat after working my ass off last week being on the road having to forage in truck stops.

I bought an electric smoker last year. Cooked larger cuts of beef, as well as chicken. Excellent method of cooking.

Last week, I tried smoking 1.5" cuts of ribeye and wew lads, it is glorious. I smoke em to about rare (120 degrees), then finish with a sear on the grill to medium rare. I've never cooked a steak that is so juicy.

I’ve had a pellet smoker almost5 years. It is great. Love doing steaks, chicken, and ribs on it. They always turn out juicy and full of flavor.

More rice cooker noms.

I added chopped garlic to the rice to steam with. The last few minutes I put butter on the veggies to melt and then drip into the rice. Also put in cheese stuffed mushrooms in the last few minutes to melt.

I wish I got one of these a long time ago. After prep it's so hands off.

Rice did flavor up from the garlic and butter to.

Easy steamed fish dinner again, but sauteed onion, garlic, and seasoned potatoes.

Thank you linemen so nice to have the power back and have some home cooking.

EDIT: That was nice. Sauteed slice garlic and onion was worth a little extra work on top of the steamed asparagus.

I gots one of them fancy air fryer thingies last week. I'm trying out new things on it that I'd typically microwave or cook in a convection oven. It makes frozen fish sticks and fillets taste more fishier and the chicken strips more chickenier.

Highly recommended frying Brussel sprouts.

Toss them in some vinaigrette and salt. Cook for about 10 mins and BAM they're like crack.

Actually just got inspired to make these tonight

So gross! Never in a million years would I eat those things ever again. Those are almost as bad as sauerkraut.

Dude I feel you on that, but they are actually delicious I'm not messing. Hated Brussel sprouts as a kid because my mom would just steam them and they were butt, but this way is one hunnit

Just make sure to at east cut them in half

Edit: I'm so confident on how good they are that I'll take a weeks ban if you don't like them.

Does anyone have a preferred method for reheating Rice?

I got this Aroma Rice Cooker / Steamer and it's great for making rice plus steamed veggies or fish. However, it optimally works by making 2 to 8 plus cups of which is a s***load of Rice and I just cook for myself. Tried doing just a half cup, but with lower rice and water it needs to be watched so it doesn't burn.

I was trying out larger batch cooking for a while, but Rice from the fridge for a quick meal wasn't so great.

So... I guess some people just add water before microwaving it, but not sure that looks very effective. Wondered if it would be better to use a water and a bit of oil in a sauce pan. Maybe when the rice is just about ready add in other leftovers to warm up.

My work schedule has been insane and I keep trying to find better food prep or cooking routines so that when I am off the road I can have home cooking.

Add water and dump out excess. The only time I reheat rice is if it's after Chinese food and I just add soy sauce to it and it's fine.

Salmon dish again with black peppercorn and thyme, because its so good and so easy to make in the cooker.

Sauteed Red Bell Pepper, Garline, and Onion over steamed rice. A few steamed veggies and mushrooms on the side.

I got stuck on the road a few nights with my stupid job this week; it's just so nice to get back home to my kitchen instead of foraging at travel stops.

I tried putting a little leftover rice in a small tupperware with a little bit of water and microwaving it. Then I put in in my thermal lunchbag with icepacks and it was okay for later; not to dry. I had it with some Thai Tuna.

I also got a sauce pan and tried it that way. Just for rice, it's overkill, but I might use that way if I do both rice and other leftovers tossed in. I do still have some leftover deli pork roll I might dice up and mix into rice with some seasoning.

Long work week. Indulged and made some grass fed beef Bleu Cheese Burgers.

While cooking I also had a sauce pan with just some hot oil. When the burgers were just about done, I set blocks of Bleu Cheese ( instead of using the usual pre-crumbled cheese ) on them and poured hot Olive Oil melting them down on the burgers. It wasn't as fast as I thought it would be but it was good enough.

Made a side of steamed broccoli and mushrooms and some olives.

Having a Jack & Coke with it.

Another steamer experiment.

I've made seafood several times using the rice cooker as a steamer. I decided to try another meat and put in a burger patty.

I was skeptical of this but it worked out. While I was doing this, I also let it steamed mushrooms and veggies and having some stuffed olives. Also, with 4 minutes left I added a block of Bleu Cheese and the steamer melted it down pretty good.

What an awesome lazy cooking option lol.

If I want to get really crazy experimenting with steaming, I may try bacon sometime.

Oh yeah, one other experiment I tried is cooking fish straight from frozen without letting it sit and thaw and it works. So far, I tried it with frozen Louisiana Catfish. I'll try frozen salmon next.

Anyone who gets sliced roast beef at the deli counter for sandwiches needs to put cream cheese on that sandwich instead of mayo, it tastes so much better and you don't need to put anything else on it lol, I've been doing that for like 20 years, I know I'm not the only one who does it but whenever I bring it up to other people they always react the way I did when I first heard about it "that doesn't sound right" but then they'll tell me later they tried it and loved it lol. Not really cooking or baking but it's food related so I just felt like throwing it in :)

Never, ever heard of that.
