Ok so me and my family are good and I know it might sound a little paranoid but we are gonna self isolate at home for the next 3 weeks in the U.K. and see how this Coronavirus pans out. Either will get a lot worse or start getting better.

Just was interested to know how is this affecting you guys and anyone else self isolating?

i wasn’t meant to start my next project until end of April but now is uncertain as lots of movie productions have been put on ice for the moment.

I am fine staying at home, playing video games, doing my VFX work as a hobby. (Blender, after effects and unreal engine stuff) and trying to do a little exercise with a combo of yoga and kettlebell workouts.

my job takes me across all of socal, and using rental cars is what’s scaring me, a lil. I stopped to get gas once and someone came up to me and said “you should go back to where you came from, you’re young, California is going to hell” I had Montana plates on my car lol. One of my coworkers says he thinks cops won’t pull him over because he’s Asian and in his fifties 😝

I am doing more meditation and trying to keep busy at home but with all this rain Ijust feel hella lazy. I gotta get into blender again, you know of any good tutorials?

Both myself and my wife are working from home for the foreseeable future. I live in a small rural community so we've spared the worst impacts seen in the cities.

My job is a weird mixed bag. I spend all day in a semitruck which is fairly isolating, though I have some contact checking in with security guards or shipping clerks which I think is insanely stupid. IMO there should be a new protocol to reduce that kind of contact to keep truck drivers safe and healthy.

Americans are freaked out about supplies coming to stores. We can't have drivers getting ill in their sleeper trucks.

For what it's worth, I'm very glad I hired on to a home daily job about a month before this started so I don't rely on truck stops as much. Imagine deciding whether to use a truck stop shower to clean up.

I've been working from home for the past week. My wife took the last few days off (scheduled well in advance) because her cousin was coming to town, so she and the boys have spent a lot of time with them (with me seeing them in the evenings). We're not yet to the point where we're really isolating but it may be coming before too long. Fortunately, the supermarkets, gas stations and drive thrus are still open (albeit limited hours) and Walmart still does grocery pickup, so I think we're fine for the foreseeable future, and as bad as coronavirus appears to be it's got to fight through a metric asston of pollen to get to us.

We're at the point now where it's gonna have to run through everyone. There's limited tests. Health officials have limited gear to prevent them to get it. This has been spreading here since November. The best we could hope for is a vaccine for this coming fall and winter. People are going to get sick. People are going to die. It sucks, but this is where we're at. Unless every single person stays home for a month, and nobody goes to a hospital, there's no way to stop this.

Working from home since yesterday. Work for a big university and there's already one confirmed case. Testing is limited in the area just like all over, but anytime they test they find tons of cases everywhere. We've had tons of people out sick for multiple days too but nobody tells us anything.

Our local county health dept. keeps asking if "anyone has been at some super busy store at noon on some particular day". These are super busy places with hundreds of people coming and going. I can't help but think we're too late in some areas. Should have probably done this a week ago.

My internet has already dumped twice in two days which is a real issue so far.

The gym I go to is part conference center, part dining hall for the medical campus, and part gym. Someone who went to a conference back on March 6 tested positive, and because I was there the same day my boss told me to self quaratine and work from home for two weeks. The President of my university announced the other day we're working from home until April 30.

Oh and my girlfriend and I pretty much decided to end things like right before this happened, and now we live together during a quarantine. We're both trying to make the best of the situation, but timing couldn't be worse :)

I have one more delivery today to Tyson Chicken.

It disgusts me that I still have to walk though the employee break room full of people to get to the clerk to sign my bills. Why can't this be handled at the security gaurd shack?

I sometimes think about quitting this job because I get fed up with Tyson. I know the economy has gone insane, but while some trucking companies are struggling, most of them are seeing a spike in demand.

Thanks for your great replies people! UK is now on lockdown from last night. I actually love being at home plus I just got back into WoW after a few years off. Still playing loads of Overwatch.

ok the actual blender YouTube channel has this updated series for blender 2.8, good to start with this as lots have changed.
If you haven’t used blender for a couple years, it’s changed a lot, def for the better, many improvements. I already loved blender before this, but now I love it even more. Real time engine as well now. Check it out 😊

I work at a University and we've pretty much shut it down. I'm an essential employee though, so there might be a few days here and there where I have to go in. I'm only leaving the house if I have to go to the grocery store. Plus its allergy season ( large plums of yellow pollen everywhere) and my allergies are kicking my ass. I have no need or want to go outside. I've got alot of games and tv shows in the backlog, so assuming I don't get sick, I can see myself coming back from this forced vacation 10-20 pounds heavier.

My wife works in the financial sector though and there is NO word of them shutting down.

I have to admit, working from home is not a big difference for me. I use a laptop for work anyway, so the only real difference being home is the speed. I've got some on site laptops I can remote into to run things faster.

It is actually nice not to waste an hour in traffic every day.

Not having access to my gym is the real big problem for me. I don't have much I can do at home.

I just worry that this is really going to drag on. I hear some people say weeks which is manageable. The NYS governor keeps saying 45 days for the virus to peak which is kind of scary (hoping that is worst case scenario).

Im a Physician so I still have to work. We've had a few cases here, but volume is down to only really sick patients which is nice. The calm before the storm I guess. Next month I will be working in the ICU in case things get bad. We are being hypervigalent and quarantining any suspected cases as testing takes 3-5 days to get back currently. Younger patients that test positive we send home for self-quarantine if they are only presenting with the normal viral prodrome. However, this is a receipt for disaster as they will get bored and leave the house. Im hoping for a vaccine because as of right now all we can do is slow spread.

I take care of my mother so I'm home most of the time anyway but I do get a little nervous about going out and getting groceries because I'm afraid I'll bring it back to her, she's 75 and been a smoker since she was 14. I use hand sanitizer a lot and wash my hands like crazy especially when I first get home from being out but yeah I really limit how much I leave the house.

I'm still at my parents' place because last year I drove longhaul for 10 day stretches and it didn't make sense to rent an apartment that mostly sat empty.

I finally got a home daily job, but it's kept me very busy with odd hours. I need to find time to line up a place and get out to 'Social Distance'.

While I'm here, I'm going to start wearing a paper mask around the house.

It is getting pretty bad here in NY. To be fair though they'e really started testing a lot more so the numbers will go up for a bit, but I'm hoping the governor's actions will help.

The real problem is that everywhere they test- they find it. It isn't like it is limited. There are cases all over the place, which is scary. In my area there aren't tons of cases, but the cases are all over the region.

Sadly I think the numbers are going to keep going up for awhile. Can only hope all this brings them down a little.

We have to be prepared for 90% of the country to get it. We’re way past containing it.
