I don't know how one can determine how a game will do financially in Early Access after 4 days. I have no knowledge how that part works, but I would assume you would need more than 4 days to determine this. Not all Early Access games can take off like Vampire Survivors. Those are rare cases, plus it was like $3. One can only assume there's something fishy going on.
To answer my own question...maybe they were bleeding so much cash that they hope they would make bank and keep things afloat. That's my only guess other than scamming folks.
