Official Thread The Division v. 2

I'm a little confused. When you get to a world tier ranking do you get to pick a specialization?

Yep. When you complete the stronghold that pushes you to WT1, you go back to the White House and you can choose a specialization. And any time you load the game thereafter, or fast travel to the White House, or a breeze blows, you'll get a notification that you can choose a specialization.

Yeah right. That notification was really annoying. Hopefully it is gone now that WT5 is active.

Just curious but outside the raid what's the reason to rush to Tier 5 and max level? Are there weapons and/or gear only accessible at that Tier?
Because everything below tier 5 is pointless and worthless. Just a waste of time staying in 1 to 4 any longer than is needed to hit the GS minimum to move on.

Patch notes are out. I'm not all the way through them yet but apparently it wasn't just me:

Roosevelt Island – Invaded – Quarantine Docks
  • Reduced the difficulty of the first wave of enemies encountered in the last beat of the mission by lowering the amount of Elite and Veteran enemies.
  • Enemies in this part of the mission can only use mounted weapons if there are 2 players or more.
    • This should make it less punishing for solo-players attempting this mission.

Removed death of civilian squad as a failure condition for Control Point takeover.
  • The Officer will now remain in downed state until players complete the takeover or wipe.

Nice.

Not a fan of the new weapon mods. Pretty worthless now. I mean + 10 bullets for extended light mag, trash.

Well, Hrudey did mention that content can be completed even if you're below the recommended score so I see the point you guys are making. But like I said before I'm in no rush to make it to the end of the end-game grind.

I'm having a lot of fun doing stuff in the open world. And there have been some really helpful players out there that are willing to team up with a random player like myself in free roam to tackle all the different things in D.C. I haven't yet got bored of the territory control missions and public executions and those random encounters of heavies are also fun.

Also, I just got through watching a video showing how to get some of those hunter masks I've seen some players wearing. I want one and hope to try for one tonight. I'm not sure that's soloable though but I'll find out soon enough.

That's the mission I've been trying to do. They always get on that turret inside the boat while I'm trying to take care of all these other guys.

I swear some of those Molotov cocktail throwing idiots should try out for the White Sox centerfield.

I soloed 4 of them.

Just completed Tidal Basin solo and hit World Tier 5.
I ran through it in about an hour without dying until the final boss encounter.
Then it took me around another hour and a half and like 15 continues to beat that bitch.

I didn't die once. I failed the part about protecting the guy twice because I had no idea they were getting to him, and failed the last part once because I didn't know the rocket launcher had to be shot at both ends to be destroyed. Got to wt5, talked to the coordinator at the w.h., left for dinner and the van died. Waiting for a tow and for my wife to get here with food.

Yeah some of my continues were because I couldn't figure out where to shoot the rockets and a couple cause I just couldn't do within the allotted time. Sorry your wheels took a crap on ya. Hopefully you'll get a good burger or something.

Unlocked the 1st tier, but never got the bench upgrade. Any recommendations?

Defeated the Roosevelt stronghold. After the update it was ridiculously easy. That or I have better weapons.

You know you have to upgrade it , right?

Go to the bench and look at the actions at the bottom. One should say, 'upgrade crafting bence' or something to that affect.

This reminds me, I need to upgrade my bench to WT5.

Yes, but didn't have an upgrade option. I can only craft up to 275, when the gear score for wt2 is 325. There's a maintenance tonight, maybe that will fix it or I will do the stronghold again.

that is how it is, oatleast how mine is. My WT5 bence is 450 even though WT5 is 500 GS.

Yeah I just figured out I can upgrade my bench. Upgraded it to high end gear. Crafted a M4 with the stability maxed out and a couple of nice talents. Modded it for accuracy and now tearing s*** up.

I also have a LMG that if you run the mag out and reload your firing rate is increased. It goes through heavies like nothing.

I still can't get past the last part on hard, at least with my 450 gear. The turrets helped a lot with the tedium of the fuel tanks, but after the second tank explodes, there's a whole slew of guys including a hammer bro that spawn off the ship and I can't seem to manage to get through that part. :(

Also, PSA for anyone moving up world tiers - when you move to a new world tier, make sure you buy loot at the newer GS. After I moved to five I did two missinos and I was getting lower GS drops than I was wearing - I was GS 449 with some 450 stuff also, and I kept getting 430s and 440s. I guess until you make your GS move above the old cap, the gear drops like you were still at the old cap, except now you're no longer guaranteed to get even the top of your tier any more I guess.

They messed up my clip size for my F2000 and now you have to manually aim/shoot to heal and then switch back..wth!

If you double click the bumper you have the chem launcher assigned to, it'll drop the heal like before. Otherwise it'll equip it like a gun - which I suppose is good for anyone who was running the oxidizer or other variants, but I am still conditioned that I hit RB to heal so I forget like 25% of the time to doubletap it.

I lucked out with that guy. I saw which direction they were coming from and put as much distance between me and them. I have a LMG that has a very high rate of fire and just unloaded on that guy. Granted this was story difficulty and not on hard.

I haven't touched the hunter masks yet. but to be fair, I haven't come across them. ;)

I was going to start up the last remaining side mission I had, but I saw you were looking for matchmaking, so ... yeah, that was fun. If my wife wasn't ready to watch something on netflix now, I'd have stuck around longer. Hopefully my support helped a little. :)

The one thing I will say is that the executions / control points/ etc. never go away, and in fact, you'll have to do them later to get the control points up to level 3 in order to farm blueprints. I ended up being level 30 well before doing the strongholds because I treated it like I do Assassin's Creed games - clear each area, and move on. I would say in this case, though, getting through the world tiers means that you'll theoretically get better loot for doing the same stuff you'd be doing anyway.

I hate the extended mags now, they are just worthless. Makes the already poor AI TTD even worse too.

I hit lvl 25 and finished the first Stronghold. That was a b**** even with 3 random players. Took us probably around an hour.

I've got one stronghold left and that's at the Capitol building. I'm kind of dreading it.

Disagree. I think they could do with an increase on the ammo amount but I certainly don’t hate them.

Capital isn’t so bad. It’s really no harder than any of the others when you play it on Story mode.
