Official Thread The Division v. 2

I don't think I've equipped a skill mod yet. For a while I just deconstructed them but now I'm at the cap for printer filament. The real problem is that I haven't found any reason at all to do anything other than healing launcher / revive hive, and no real use for mods other than maybe +ammo on the launcher, which would really only be useful if I wanted to put on insane healing to be able to facetank a hammer bro for giggles.

Definitely good gear is better than high gear scores. Obviously good gear with high gear scores is nice, though. Apparently the GS is mostly just going to affect things like the armor values, while the talents and attribute rolls are mostly GS independent. And the way it works, some of the purples will have higher rolls on attributes because there's a "budget" for rolled skills/talents and because there are fewer rolls on a purple, it can have a higher max. I'm still not ready for actual recalibration to start maxing out GS.

My easy fix to skill mods is to lower the skill power requirement but I'm not sure how that could effect something else in the game. Also, since skill power is only a gate to activate mods I'm wondering if damage from skills scales with our level and/or gear score? it doesn't seem to but I could be wrong. I used the turret/chem launcher combo for a while but the turret seems useless on tougher enemies. I may just dump it and use the revive with something else. The skills overall are a bit disappointing and not all that fun to use. I've tried the drone but it gets shot down quickly, the shield is not really my thing. I did read a nice argument for pulse when paired with the talent that grants additional damage after its effect wears off. Ohh well, I do really like all three of the specializations. This game just need some fine tuning to get better which is most likely being worked on so I guess we have to be patient.

They don't need lowering. Skills should be invested into.

What they need to do is give the mods massive buffs and give each skill another mod slot. Skills builds right now are weak and not worth bothering with.

I simply run with healing chem gun and auto turret so I'm not all that concerned with skill score. I focused my build on high assault rifle and lmg damage along with elite damage.
I have a respirator that's +30% elite damage which is pretty sweet.

A combo of talents and mags give my assault rifle 48 rounds and my M60 120 rounds.

I think it would be better if there was a third skill slot, so we could run a revive skill (at least in solo, if nothing else), a healing skill and an attack / cc skill. I kind of think that skill power should be skill power too, not an unlock - so a mod can always be put on and used, but skill power would actually make effectiveness of skills better.

I'm nearly maxed out on sharpshooter now (and the only thing left to unlock is a reduction in damage in conflict only anyhow, which I doubt I'll ever play). Actually I may have the points for that now, even - I just finished the dailies, including pulling off the challenging for the first time. It may just be that this challenging mission is easier than most - getting the outcast strategist is pretty much easy, and the only actual death I had was that I tried to run all the way across from the entrance between waves to climb up behind the area like I did for the Black Tusk version, but that apparently wasn't available. Of course I did have some good luck, too - the final elites both seemed to not ever really come after where I was, and just ran back and forth between the balconies. I actually had a chance to switch my LMG to an AR since I blew through the ammo.

Doesn't look like any of the major issues in this game will be fixed anytime soon.

It depends; in the Anthem Standard time zone, it'll be the fastest fix ever.

One thing that's encouraging is that they're going to have a public test server (PC only, though) to test out some balance changes, and they're talking about having a forum post drop tomorrow discussing skills and skill power. The fixes for that and balance won't be as quick as I'd like, but honestly skills are pointless right now anyway so any delay in the fixes really doesn't affect me much.

I did max out my sharpshooter spec this morning doing a quick couple of bounties. I'm not sure if I am going to go straight into another one or keep playing this while trying to gear up since I'm still only at about 480 when I get a proficiency cache.

This is the dumbest thing ever.

1. Why the f*** are they waiting to fix gear sets, the gear sets are straight up trash and not viable options.

2. Really, Massive...really...you are going to increase defensive rolls for attributes that have minimal effect on surviveability.

3. Great thought process on damage mitigation, awesome. Almost as great as nerfing the very talents that help us burst the AI down. Just great.

No wonder this game is so one dimensional.

hrudey nice running with ya fellow agent. We burned through those bounties so easily. I should have picked more difficult targets but there's always next time. Ohhh, sorry for getting us lost on one of the bounty targets. I get so turned around in those indoor environments and lose my way, haha.

You seem to have gone from loving this to hating it pretty quickly.

You going to be playing it tonight?

Would have been quicker if the game was finished at launch. The end game is a mess and severly lacking. End game first my ass.

No problem. I generally don't even bother running bounties too often because I get lost even more. I also feel stupid because the first night when we did a few missions with the 4 man team I was wondering why you guys weren't picking up the loot I saw and was firing my pistol at it to signal you. I finally figured out that you get your own loot, so I should have just been picking it up and dropping it all (since at the time it was like, what, 350ish). Jumping in while you're running bounties seems to be a really productive way for me to play though when I don't have a whole lot of time. :)

Hey, feel free to hop in my session any time. I solo a lot or play with randoms so I don't use my mic (since no one else does) but I'll try and keep my mic handy if and when you do join my game. I'm glad you picked up my Salute as a signal that I was done for the night. I don't get a lot of time to game during the weekdays either which is why l like running bounties. Bounties sure are a lot easier (and more fun) when you have someone watching your back. I really like how the bounty targets are kind of hidden or in out of the way indoor locations even though I get lost trying to find them.

My salute was the signal I was done for the night too, so that worked out perfectly. :)

I have 6 days plus play time already and I still love the game. It's not perfect but the amount of detail shows how much time and dedication went into crafting it. It's not easy to balance a game perfectly with both PVP and PVE included and hundreds of pieces of gear. I know they'll get it right in due time.

in due time? Like they didn't have a 3 year beta test already.

Doesn't take long to notice the massive issues. Maybe they should have played the game before releasing.

I would play with you guys but you're ranked higher

Don't let that stop you the game scales your level/damage so you can play with those of higher rank. And the loot we don't need can be shared with you to help you get to a high rank.

What he said. Usually I get on to do daily missions and maybe bounties but other than that if I have time I'll jump in. Usually if I see someone in the clan matchmake I will try to join, and I've hopped over with busterman a few times now too.

I actually screwed around a little in the Dark Zone this afternoon. I had already completed an invaded mission on Challenging with only one respawn, and I saw a couple of weekly projects had "Kill X enemies in DZ South" so I figured I'd give that a shot. Completed a couple of landmarks on hard and a supply drop, died probably four times - didn't think to replace the revive hive though because #stupid. Got through the one extraction I tried with no incident.

I’ve been playing this morning hit lvl 30, finished the last Stronghold, and started the World Tiers. Now the fun begins eh!?
Not really. WT1 to 4 are pointless. Best to get through it ASAP, if you have a friend or 2 in WT5 who willing to play with you and share all their drops then you will speed through1 to 4

Then what fun is left after you hit 5?
Then you have fun waiting for the raid that is a month late.

Honestly, there isn't much difference between WT 1 & 5, but in WT 5 your build counts. Also, don't waste resources in at the crafting/recalibration bence in WT 1 to 4 or try to find exotics.

Waiting on fans to turn on this like every online game.
Still, having fun with it, only played a few hours, most of the environments are eerily samey as first game minus the snow but I really liked that one in regards to the campaign.
All good atm

Except I've found that if you can recalibrate stuff to get the item level up (which can happen on gear if you recalibrate a +stat, but not on talents), and if it's using resources that you're capped on anyway, you can boost your GS to get better items from your level up caches and in theory from drops. I ended up doing it at first just to get patience on new kneecaps when I found a really strong replacement, but after hours of having ceramics, electronics, etc. drops all be red because I was at the ridiculously low cap already, I went ahead and started doing the recal to burn through some of that.

It actually did, sort of, work. I had been at roughly 486 cache, did the recal and ran through a mission or two to get the next level, and got a 500... which dropped a Mk17 that finally retired for now my Classic M1A, which still does a few thousand more damage per bullet, but the MK17's extra clip size won out.

In WT5 you should use it for the exact reason you put fourth.

What I have found is that resource farming is time consuming, boring and very tedious with little result. Everybody screams Solar Farm but 35 electronics is crap, and the cooldown is dumb. I tried doing Solar Farm again around 7 hours later and all the cases were still empty.

I was doing a project that awards you a false son's outfit I think? I have it done but two missions. One at DCD and the other is somewhere on the east side. Problem is I've already done these missions and nothing is showing up at either of these places.
