Official Thread The Division v. 2

I suppose I need to get back into the game as well.

Raid has no matchmaking. RIP Division 2.

The sub reddit about this is going psycho. The devs are saying a pre-made team is needed but the quality of the player from a third-party site like LFG is no better than gamers put together through the game's matchmaking services. Let gamers fail and dust themselves off, go online for tips/strats so they can try again. I used LFG extensively and I can tell you it was no guarantee that you'd get a competent player. They did say they are open to changing this stance so lets hope they one day open the raid to matchmaking. I just hope its soon because I've played the hell out of the game and I'm about ready to move on.

Soloing gets old and no one in the Xbox VGF clan plays anymore.

That's terrible. I haven't tried it in Division, but the idea that "LFG gets you better players" is totally garbage in Destiny. Not to mention it is long and time consuming. It took me over an hour to find 2 additional people to do the Thorn quest in D2. Took longer to find people than it did to run the activity.

LFG for D2 is filled with people flat out lying about their experience. I'd rather just run matchmaking.

Did a challenging mission--if you can call it that now--and got 1 measely specialization ammo....is it broken? Again.

Not sure. I played about hour last night using the cross now class and I got two special ammo pick ups in all that time. Also swapping classes at the White House no longer seems to reload your special ammo.

Just more crap to throw on the trash pile known as Div 2 end-game. Pretty sure I'm done with looter shooters. They are nothing but lies and disappointment.

Or maybe not. The lack of matchmaking on the raid is pretty scary. I don't have a mic and not going to bother to get one for this. I'm not sure if I should just wait until matchmaking is added to the raid and just keep on knocking out some of my backlog (currently 2/3 or so through Borderlands), bite the bullet and gear up and try to find my way into a raid group somehow, or just write the whole game off.

Seems like the Raid rewards are pretty meh too. 3 gear sets but only the Marksmen Rifle one shows any promise going by the PTS info. Only one weapon, an AR, that we know nothing about.

And that is it.

Heard the raid was already mined and leaked. I get the interest, I guess....but I don't care and rather experience it without knowing anything.

I don’t notice the increase in damage from the Spotter talent. Its supposed increase damage by 20% on pulsed enemies, requires 5 utility attributes. I have ignored pulse but with the recent changes made in the game I had to redo my assault rifle build. I thought it would go well with On the Ropes talent since that increases damage when skills are on cooldown and requires 7 utility attributes.

Spotter, Unstoppable Force, On the Ropes and Patience (4/7/7) is the full build. Optimist on my Custom P416 with Nemesis rifle for holstered increased headshot perk. I’ll need to tinker with this build some more but right now its not as effective as my Rifle build.

Actually glad Raid rewards are meh since I don’t see how I’d get to play it without matchmaking

The Raid is now available. I'll be holding off on trying it until tomorrow.

Unless you have an extremely hard hitting DPS build don't bother with the raid. Skill builds, trash. Tank builds, trash.

Watched a few videos of the raid and the above is just reality. Gear sets are no good either. So, yeah.

Yeah I've been reading its next to impossible to beat on the consoles. That's an unfortunate turn of events.

Watched some very good youtubers who hold the world's first completion of the raid and they struggled. There is no way the average player is going to be able to complete the raid. Massive will need to do some tuning on the raid or prepare for more angry players voicing their opinions.

Marcostyle....whos entire party had mad DPS builds.

I can't seem to find a single console streamer/youtuber who has finished it. They all seem to be stuck on the first boss.

I've watched some of their build videos. There is no way I'm grinding a new character to get the mods they have. Its ridiculous that lower level mods drop with higher damage increase values than those we get at end game. I've seen some of their builds with multiple 6.5% weapon damage increases. The highest I've come across in the end game is one (only 1) I have for my assault rifle at 5% AR damage & 2% weapon damage. If I had more of those mods my AR build would do insane damage. Even my rifle build that hits extremely hard and uses Gila Brand for multiple offensive mod slots doesn't have a mod that gives me more than a 5% damage increase and those are rare.

Massive is going down the wrong path. It seems they believe a Raid needs to be extremely hard where only one type of build (damage dealer) is the only choice to complete the activity. The Raid even frustrated Macro and the rest of the world's first crew where they were arguing with each other at one point. And those guys have extreme optimized builds. A Raid should be challenging but also fun and hopefully the devs find the right balance.

Perfect example would be Vault of Glass from Destiny 1. The mechanics added the challenge while NPCs kept the same fun gameplay as the rest of the game. Such a fun raid.

No matchmaking is a joke. Is this 2019 or 2010? Honestly I haven’t played in awhile. I was glued to the game till I hit the World Tiers and just started playing other games. Plus with my new job I have even less gaming time. Doubt I come back to this game for awhile.

Almost as bad as Crackdown 3 shipping with no party support....unreal.

How many times did I die on the platforming section in Vault of Glass I will never know but it was a lot the first few times I ran that raid.

I think that's the problem right there with The Division 2. No platforming, relic holding or ball throwing mechanics that make Destiny raids so much fun without resorting to bullet sponge enemies for every encounter. In the first boss encounter for this new raid its all about dps and pressing a button on some laptops to rinse and repeat the damage phase. The Division devs are going to have to get more creative even without the freedom of movement a game like Destiny offers.

Destiny is a sci-fi\Fantasy game it can do those things. The division series is based close to real world tech, it is very diffcult or maybe impossible for them to do that.
