I wish the people who were so enthusiastic about defending the 2nd Amendment would feel the same way about the 1st. The 1st is as important if not more than the 2nd. What good are your guns going to do against tyranny if you don't have free speech and free press? You won't see the tyranny coming until it is too late.

They care about the first Amendment the same way they do the Second... just the way they want to. The second Amendment they ignore the whole clause about a well-regulated militia, and the First Amendment they care about that the people who they agree with shouldn't be stifled by government or even private companies, but they don't care about any speech they don't agree with.

And in "No Collusion" news, Manafort's sentencing in front of Judge Ellis is this afternoon.

Under four years? WTF?!??!

And after the judge said he wasn't giving any downward credit for remorse. Moral of the story: it's good to be a rich, white, white-collar criminal.

Let's also not forget this just happened - white Republican white collar crime, no problem!

I hope Manafort gets shanked.

I want him to serve out his entire sentence. I'm hoping Judge Berman-Jackson gives him the max 10 years for the charges he's up on in front of her, consecutive to this gift from Ellis, so he'll at least serve *almost* the recommended minimum for the charges he was already sentenced for. (Which isn't to say that the recommended sentencing ranges aren't absurd as a general rule, but this man is such a serial violator that this massive downward departure is absurd).

Let's see... muh free speech. The same guy:

Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza told Ingraham that “it’s important to realize” that “the level of repression of speech on campus” has risen and become “systematic” rather than “episodic.”

D'Souza is a piece of garbage. Always fun watching him get destroyed by historian Kevin Kruse on Twitter.

Have Trump voters figured out that the wall is never going to happen and nobody ever wanted it to in the first place?

The entire thing was a scam to fund private prisons, all which donate to politicians.

I'm so f***ing sick of this country. Comfortable people living comfortable lives using knee jerk politics, gerrymandering, and propaganda news networks to sustain a Republican control. It's disgusting.

What's weird, is that paragraph above reads like a right-wing conspiracy theory. Projection from the far right has normalized crockpot theories to equate to legitimate investigations from a federal entity.

Manafort gets less than 4 years from the US judicial system? It feels like game over...however every vote counts! VOTE 2020 primaries and general elections near you!

Jesus Christ.

It just shows what a true conservative genius he was; he said things that wouldn't be okay until ten years later when the Republic party became, essentially, a cult of personality designed to glorify and indemnify a man who intentionally walked in on 15 year olds changing.

The GOP is taking their straw man arguments to the next level.

He can always go home to Russia, or back to his family's dairy farm in Iowa where they're employing undocumented workers like everyone in that still GOP-voting state.

I don't think that is how socialism works

Which is kind of a shame, since "government owning the means of suction" would put a whole new angle on both the Drumpf and Clinton presidencies.
