Yang may not win but he seems (along with Bernie) like the most decent and real guy in the race IMO.

The whole clip.

Americans need to pay close attention to this. This is why the 1st amendment is even more important than the 2nd.

The 1st amendment is our true defense against tyranny. When you start calling free press the "enemy of the people", you are treading on dangerous ground.

The problem is that the right will use people like Yang and his universal basic income (even long after he drops out) as "evidence" that we're all crazy socialists.

What's hilarious is that his idea isn't really all that different than the so-called conservative tax cuts.

Even though Yang has done a great job of explaining his policy, facts don't matter.

They are going to be called socialists no matter what its just a question of whether you can actually sell any of these plans. Maybe Warren can but it comes back to there being too many people running and nobody really is having their feet held to the fire over what could be some real election losing policies.

I love Bernie, but I honestly think only Biden and Warren have a shot. I think Bernie just comes off as too far left, fair or not.

Bernie is an idealist, and that's where he struggles on the big stage. A modern politician needs to have some pragmatism.

The problem is it comes down to branding more than actual policy. Warren says she's a capitalist and not a socialist, then tells you how she wants to tax the rich to pay for healthcare and education. That's smart, and that's what you have to do to win. She's really probably not that far off of Bernie on policy, but she looks a lot more centered.

I think to win you have to make it look more centrist. I like Bernie and feel like he's been a good for the party overall, but he needs to stay out of the big elections because all he does is muddy the waters and hurt the party long term.

I honestly feel like I would bet on Mayor Pete before I would bet on Bernie. Just feels like he can't build on his base and he doesn't have the luxury of being "Not Hillary" this time.

I feel like there are still 5 who could win but Biden is way out in front and Warren has the clear best chance of catching him

What is going on in China/Hong Kong and Russia is absolutely terrifying, and yes, it totally could happen here.

The enemy of the people is not the press, the true enemy of the people is anyone who wants to tear down the free press.

Also Boris Johnson just announced that he wants to create more prisons. Wonder why?

All these authoritarian leaders seem to be all going after controlling their population almost in sync.

Wasn't Trump pretty far from any kind of a centrist message? His ridiculouos Wall carried him with a lot of people.

What if big ideas or a little grandiosity get votes?

Probably would have backfired if the opponent wasn't also historically disliked.

But there is truth there as you do need some excitement. Democratic voters are probably too afraid of Trump winning to vote for who they actually want.
