Genuinely curious what this proves. She wasn't Speaker of the House when the Iraq War started. Was there any appetite for impeachment between 2007-2009? Keep in mind this was the start of the recession. Pelosi thought he was lying. What was she supposed to do?
So the last three administrations have been lying to us about Afghanistan? Not a surprise at all but it's something both parties are guilty of doing, we really need someone who not only says they'll get us out of these wars but will also have the courage to follow through.
I was reading the lengthy report from WaPo last night and it is astounding. Unfortunately this will likely get lost behind big headlines in the next few days. Almost a trillion dollars spent, thousands of lives lost and tens of thousands injured, and none of it accomplished a single thing. When we look at why this country is constantly in debt, stuff like this really stands out.
Remember the 1st Amendment? It is under attack.
Yang made the debate. Will be 7 people.
Greta Thunberg is Time's person of the year.
Was happy to see him respond this way, Castro keeps trying to make everything about race to get attention and I'm glad Yang didn't go along with it.
That's just pandering.
No state deserves that role but if a state were to have it it would be better for it to be a state that better represents the country as a whole
If the whiners get their way we'll move SC and Nevada up which are both states Biden is going to win (Well S.C. for sure, Nevada is close) what does that accomplish? getting a white guy in his 70's closer to the nomination isn't accomplishing anything for diversity. South Carolina isn't even going to vote for a Dem in the general so why should they get more say? it seems to me they are a little earlier than they should be as it is. California is the most diverse state in the country and we'll be voting on Super Tuesday instead of second to last so that's progress if you think there needs to be some.
Was Yang being a little extra nice to Iowans in that tweet? sure he's running for office but he didn't try to make it about his ethnicity the way Castro, Booker and others have been doing and I appreciate that. It's not like he's polling 24% and couldn't use some help but he's not trying to play identity politics the way they others are in order to get attention and I like that.
Well whatever state or states go first shouldn't be about what helps Biden win or not. The fact that Mayor Pete would win the first two states with much worse overall support than Biden is a ridiculous thing.
The early states allow momentum to form and narratives to be created. People will have to drop out based on them and it isn't just about the racial makeup of Iowa. Issues that matter there aren't necessarily going to matter everywhere. And I don't care what states vote for who in the general election because the electoral college is s***ty enough without it having to bleed over here. Voters in red states shouldn't have less of a say in who the Democratic nominee is.
I don't really care where Castro or Yang fall on this because both are just being opportunists over the issue.
Absolutely impeach and remove if that horrific scenario happens. He's committed enough crimes to warrant it. They need to have everything read to go,I've always tried to avoid this thread(politics in general) but I've got to ask, what are your plans/intentions IF Trump wins a second term? Would you fall in line with this congresswoman to continue "impeachment" if the dems take the senate?
Rep. Karen Bass Says House Open to Impeaching Trump Again if He Wins 2020
Trump could face a second round of impeachment if he's elected again and if Dems take the Senate.www.tmz.com
Mayor Pete isn't going to win the nomination and no narrative of momentum will help him because he has no support among black voters or young people and that's not going to change the way it did for Obama. His support is coming from people who keep shopping around, first they were with Harris, then Warren and now Pete so it won't last. Booker is polling around 5% with black voters so I don't know what he's crying about when it comes to representation, he and Harris both had a hard time connecting with them and Biden's support among older black voters hasn't fallen at all.
As far as looking like the rest of America, there are a lot of states that are mostly white so writing them off like the dems keep doing isn't going to help anyone. They should just move all of the primaries into tiers and have like 4 super Tuesdays.

I guess for me it would depend on what Articles of impeachment they're calling for. I'm also not sure it's a gaurantee Mike Pence will remain VP or if he'll pick another running mate.
Actually, it seems like in today's politics, the public doesn't care much about the Emoluments Clause issue thing and if Biden is corrupt and really guilty of a conflict of interest, does the public care about Trump looking into the Ukraine thing?
If we wound up with a Democrat Senate, I think beating on these legalities might be a waste of time. It might be better to 'Show Strength' by using the Senate to push back against Trump's agenda.
I tend to agree with Chomsky that Russia Gate is absurd and I think the Democrats just keep hammering Trump with investigations while he's still there.
